Riva Arun Hotel Stay
This is a very nice boutique hotel in a great location. Right on the river and close walking distance to many of the major cultural and culinary areas. The service from the staff was exceptional. Couldn’t help enough. The room was very nice and clean. I’d just say that with hindsight, upgrading the room to once on the top floor with more seating in the room other than the bed and a stool would be a good idea. The roof terrace bar / restaurant is great with an incredible view. Would stay there again without hesitation.

Lovely, friendly hotel
The hotel is ideally located, being so close to the palace and royal temple complexes and the ferry crossing to Wat Arun. The hotel is lovely and quiet and the staff are superb. The breakfast is good and the views from the rooftop terrace are lovely. We checked out in the morning, leaving our luggage as we had a day’s sightseeing planned before flying out. As the hotel was not full, when we returned to collect our luggage, they provided us with use of a bedroom to shower and change at no charge. This is unlikely to happen in the UK. A great hotel at a reasonable price.

Excellent hotel in super location
Great location near Wat Pho and the Royal Palace, excellent clean and luxurious hotel with super friendly staff. Really comfortable and represents great value for money. You can get round the local sights in a day (using the really cheap river transport) and then use taxis / tuk tuks to get around the rest of the city. A great place to stay in Bangkok which I'd definitely recommend - I'd definitely stay there again if / when I return to Bangkok!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Would certainly go back.

Good 6.0
Promised a lot but ...
We chose this area for sight-seeing opportunities. It took 2 hours to get from the airport as it's on the other side of Bangkok. The local sites are wonderful and the view from the hotel rooftop stunning. However, it is old Bangkok and not at all westernised. English is barely spoken and there are no recognisable brands or fine dining restaurants nearby (though there are a couple of small local restaurants that are very good). The hotel restaurant should have been perfect, however there were 2 issues. I sent my main course back as it was very unpleasant. And on several occasions our orders were either missed/forgotten or were wrong. The service was well-meaning but training not thorough enough. The bed was amazing but rooms small and bijoux ... tricky if you arrive with a lot of luggage. If you go there, be well planned and clear about what you want to do because it seems there is a network of commission-hunting and unsuspecting tourists will find themselves being taken to shops that pay TukTuk drivers commission for taking you there ... like us!! Overall it was an experience, but not one we would rush back to repeat.
