Disappointing response
I booked this hotel partly because of wonderful reviews about how personalised the service was, & how staff consistently go above & beyond guests' expectations. As a woman often traveling solo, this is something I particularly value. I was already in Paris, & had decided to stay an extra night; so the night before I was due to stay with them, I booked online using one of my Hotels.com Reward nights. The next morning, I became extremely ill with what turned out to be a kidney infection. I immediately called Hotels.com, explained the situation - that I was going to return to London to see my doctor straight away, while I was still well enough to travel - and asked if it might be possible to cancel & not lose my hard-earned Reward night. I realised this would be an exception, but as a Silver member (usually I'm Gold, but my status just went down a level because I've travelled a little less this year), I hoped it might be possible. The kind Hotels.com staff member tried, but Hotel de JoBo apparently refused to allow me to cancel. I then called the hotel direct, to explain my situation personally, and was met with a very unsympathetic response and a straight 'No'. If the person had been kinder or more understanding, it would have been something; but it was a straight, bureaucratic refusal, without warmth. I returned to London in pain, having lost a Reward night, & now not likely to try HdBJ on one of my frequent business trips to Paris. Also a little disappointed in Hotels.com...

Helpful staff and great location
Located in a great neighbourhood and close to the main subway line. Hotel staff are incredibly helpful. The room is tight but that seems to be common in Paris. The shower is tricky, hard to not flood the room. The character and location more than make up for any shortcomings

A destination hotel in the heart of the Marais.
For a 3 day visit to Paris to celebrate my birthday with a friend, Hotel de JoBo really was the heart of our visit. It's perfectly located close to everything the Marais has to offer, not to mention a stone's throw from the Seine and the left bank, Hotel de JobBo exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing - upon check in, the lovely receptionist gave my friend and I birthday drink on the house. On our last night, another lovely fellow gave us a plate of complimentary macarons because they had run out of our chosen digestif. Every staff member we engaged with was a delight, they took the time to give dedicated service and treated all of their guests with grace - it really made our stay one to remember. The decor in the hotel is something out of a movie - you really feel like you are living 'a la Josephine' - the floral wallpaper and fuchsia pink tones invigorated the senses, the furniture and the art inspired us to learn more about the hotel's muse. Everywhere you looked, there was something new to appreciate, right down to the black swan adorned ceiling decor in the atmospheric bar. We stayed in a classic room with two twin beds. The room was compact but we did not feel cramped in at all. There was ample cupboard space, a coffee machine, Mariage Freres teabags, complimentary sparkling and still water in the compact fridge, and a large flat screen tv. The bathroom had a huge shower with perfect pressure, and the Fragonard soap was a treat. We recommend Hotel de JoBo!

Hosts couldn't have been nicer. Room was cramped, with no real place to store luggage or hang garments. T was spotless, had tea and coffee makers, fresh filtered water changed daily.Only 2 English TV channels ; Bloomburg and CNBC - I would have liked some news and entertainment channels.

Lovely place
Stayed for five nights. This was my first time visiting Paris. I was looking for a place central in the heart of it all that would allow me to experience Paris on foot and return to rest before heading out again. Hôtel de JoBo is perfect for this. The area (La Marais) hosts a lot of cafés and restaurants and has a vibrant atmosphere without being too noisy. Saint Martin metro station is just around the corner, big plus. The room was small, which is to be expected for a place as central as this. But very comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and spoke english well. The security box in the room fits a 13 inch laptop and the fridge fits a couple of large bottles. Nice. The hotel provides fresh water in the fridge daily, but you might as well drink the tap water, which is good in Paris. The Wifi was a bit faster than I'm used to at hotels abroad. Since I wanted to stroll around and have my meals down the road, I didn't try the food at the hotel. Next time. If anything could be improved it would be the air condition which was a bit too warm or cold no matter how I adjusted it. But that didn't bother me much. I was very satisfied and would definately stay here again.
