Nice spot for budget conscious - uncomfortable bed
Overall this was a nice place to stay for a quick night and trying to be budget conscious. I liked this a little more than the typical capsule hotel because you get a little personal space in addition to the sleeping area, with a little desk and area to put luggage or hang things. My main complaints about this place are two-fold. One is a few of the others guests were really loud and seemed unaware that the sound traveled easily. At 2am two guys outside my "room" were having a normal volume discussion in Japanese as if they were in their own hotel room or something. My other complaint is the beds are extremely uncomfortable because they are basically pieces of foam on a wood board/frame. The foam/mattress is very soft so you are basically sleeping on a wood board. If they used Japanese futons the beds would be much nicer. It seems like they considered everything else but didn't leave enough budget for the mattresses.

Clean and relaxing cabin
Staying at Global Cabin Gotanda was a rewarding experience. This cabin is not only a bed style cabin, you also have privacy and enough room for yourself. The cabin is clean and spacious. The facilities are impeccable polished and well organized. The public bath in the eighth floor is a traditional Japanese bath. They provide all the necessary toiletries and clothes to make your staying more pleasant. The only negative aspect about this place is the check in time, which is 5:00 pm. They also ask you to leave the cabin from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you don't mind that I would highly recommend this place if you want to experience a cabin. Btw, the morning smoothie is delicious and it is made of real fruit.

Convenient, clean, NOT PRIVATE ROOMS but nice
I liked it. The walls don't go all the way to the ceiling and the door doesn't lock, but there is an in-room safe and in order to access your floor you need to use your keycard in two different ways. I could hear other folks getting ready for the day in the morning, but seeing as I was also awake, it wasn't an issue. I wanted a cheap bed and I felt safe enough. I got what I wanted.

Very polished luxury "capsule" hotel
The set-up of this place is a higher-end hybrid of capsule hotels and newer places that have compact rooms. Bathrooms and amenity areas are shared, and there is a men's only soaking pool on the top floor. Everything is absolutely immaculate ad virtually brand new. The beds are offset capsules stacked above each other, but with entrances on opposite sides (not at the ends). And next to each capsule entrance, you get a small space that contains a desk and hangers for your clothes. So each guest gets a private space comprising of either an upper or lower capsule, plus workspace next to it. An accordion screen folds across the doorway for complete privacy. Lots of amenities are provided - premium toiletries in the common wash up area, branded pajamas, a chest of ice packs and mini cooler bags to keep your drinks cold, coin laundry, vending machines, common area space to hang out in, and umbrellas at the door for you to borrow as needed. There's no breakfast nor a cafe, but there is automated coffee and self-serve smoothies (persimmon carrot and green tea coconut) in the morning. There is a lock-out period for clean-up between 10am and 5pm, so you can't be in the sleeping or bathing areas during then, plus you have to return the key each day, even if you are coming back that night. A little odd, but no problem in practice. Staff were helpful (but not cheerful), and I was happy with everything during my stay.
