Loved our stay here. Could have stayed longer.
This was my favourite hotel during our trip. Just really relaxed, friendly atmosphere with lounge to relax in, use of hot tub, the staff wake you if northern lights appear and amazing food.

Hotel with stunning views
When we arrived we were put into the separate outbuildings, the room did not correspond with the advertised pictures. We did not have a wardrobe and the radiator did not work. The room consisted of cement covered walls and floor. We spoke to the receptionist who advised that she could not offer a change of room until the next day. She was very accommodating fetching a small heater and a hot chocolate. Once we had moved into the hotel itself, we were more than happy with the accommodation. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice (continental). Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is out of town and very quiet, so a car is a must. A nice little service offered, you can get a wake up call if the Northern lights are visible. Our son enjoyed having a soak in the hot tub :)

Dinner was amazing!
Check in was fast, friendly and efficient. Our room was a ‘new’ room. It was quite small and sparsely decorated. Bathroom also small and shower leaked through wall into our bedroom making a pool of water beside bed. I trust this is a teething problem which will be sorted. The food however was truly amazing and I would return for that alone! We wanted an isolated location in the hope of seeing the aurora so I would give top marks for this. Overall happy with stay but the room wasn’t too good.

Come for Northern Lights, stay here for service
Despite my initial misgivings, this place is superb. Cottages sized perfectly for families with kids, very clean, excellent showers and hot tub. Buffet breakfast delectable and various. Not only was the staff helpful with hiking tips, they generously washed and folded three loads of our laundry for free. Be forewarned: though listed in Selfoss, it’s a good twenty minute drive away from civilization, which is a plus, given its placid setting in the hills, free from light pollution and therefore a prime location for Northern lights viewers. Indeed, the “Borealis” offers wake up calls when the Northern Lights do become visible while guests are sleeping. 40 minute drive from Reykjavík.

Quiet hotel with secret bonuses
Overall a nice stay. Had issues at checkin since I used a 3rd party to book the hotel. I paid for the stay but the hotel never got paid so I had to make a couple calls to get things straightened out. Hot tub was a bonus, great place for stargazing!!! Was happy that breakfast was included. Definitely the place to connect with your significant other since there was no TV which was kinda nice :) location was nice for the attractions I wanted to check out.

The staff was extremely nice and let us check in early. The hotel itself was very quaint and quiet, exactly what we were looking for!

Perfect place to see Northern Lights
We had rented a 3 bedroom villa and it was gorgeous. The place is perfect to view northern lights as this place is away from all the light pollution. Also the house has big glass windows in every room, so you can see the northern lights from inside as well. They also have a hot tub outside the house which is perfect to spend the night outside in cold weather. There was also kitchen in the house which we used to cook dinner. Breakfast was included and it was good. Staff were really nice and helpful.
