8/10 Very good

boutique hotel - rock-hard mattress
Nice room and just as the picture shown when booked (very rare to get this with most hotels). Room was as described and had a fridge for own use which is a massive bonus. Quality goose down quilt and pillows. Drinks in bar expensive and breakfast mounts up when adding juice and coffee, so costs more than breakfast elsewhere. The thing I would change about the room is the lighting, very dimly lit and although a light bulb out in room 103 which didn't help, even if lit would not be bright overall, and I did turn the dimmer switch up as high as it goes. Bathroom lighting was very good however. The other thing I'd change - I have never slept on such a rock hard mattress, like sleeping on the floor and if all mattresses are the same I wouldn't stay again. Apart from that, nice boutique hotel, reasonably friendly staff, but needs lots more car parking for guests, - only 14 spaces and some of those were staff.

Lovey view
The room we had was furnished very nice the bed was comfortable the one thing I did not like was the open plan bathroom no door on the shower but that not a big issue the view was really nice looking out on to the see We ate at the restaurant and the food was good would definitely stay at this hotel again

6/10 Good

No title
Room was quite small, no barh, but massive shower room, however the water did build up in the corner and did not run to the drain, rhere seemed to be a clicking noise through the night which did hamper my sleep, the pictures on this site are mainly based on the sea view rooms which do look a lot more spacious, u went for the double comfort..which werent to clever and overlooked the car parking area..very bleak..staff were amazing, friendly and very helpful...just the size of the rooms and the lack of information relating to whether or not you have a shower or bath .

4/10 Fair

Wouldnt recommend
Im not usual a moaning person but, considering the hotel is only a few years old,the building is seen alot of wear n tear, parking is ridiculous, room was tiny as i paid for the king room was expexting bigger n the bed was tiny, and its so expensive, ive stayed in alot of place in southend and to be honest i would ravour stay in a budget hotel than this at least ur getting what you pay for, whats annoying as well is they take a deposit from you the same value as the room l, n this day in age that could be your spending money for that night, its actually a pointless stay waste of money, the apartments on the same road are alot nicer and alot cheaper
