Needs investment and locks on the doors!
While the architecture of Heads Nook Hall is beautiful, the house desperately needs investment. We stayed in the Blue Room and there were signs of water ingress on the ceilings, the windows need maintenance (there was a sign stating not to put anything on the windowsill due to leaks) and the paintwork and finishes in the room were rough in places. The bed was like sleeping on rocks and the pillows really uncomfortable. As a result, we didn’t have a good night’s sleep. The bedding was lovely though. Our main gripe with this place is the fact that the bedroom door didn’t lock. There was a lightweight snib on the rear of the door that offered minimal security when we were IN the room but it was impossible to lock to door when leaving the room and the outer door didn’t close properly. The staff said ‘they had never had any issues’ but that really didn’t make us, nor our belongings feel secure at all and it would stop us staying again. While the room itself was clean, the dining room desperately needed a good dust (see cobwebs!) and again, the once beautiful windows have fallen into a state of disrepair, although we understand this is being attended to currently. Breakfast was in general good – a nice spread with a good offering of cereals, fruit and cooked food. The juices however are from concentrate (we assume), the coffee was really weak and the shared jars of honey have seen better days (hard like wax). All in all, we came away feeling underwhelmed by our stay.

A Lovely Small Character Hotel
A lovely character hotel, with an enthusiastic welcome. We stayed in the Blue Room, which is spacious and has triple aspect windows - much needed in the current hot weather. We ate at a local hostelry a 10 minute ride from Heads Nook Hall, as nothing is available in the village. Breakfast was well presented and tasty, with lots of choice. We would recommend the hotel, for anyone seeking somewhere a little different from the range of corporate chain hotels.

Beautiful, classy outstanding accommodation
We throughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The hotel is truly amazing and of high class standard. We stayed in the Blue Room which was absolutely fantastic and such a large room with beautiful views overlooking the garden. The bathroom was also very nice. Upon arrival, Bill gave us a tour around and was very friendly. The breakfast was also excellent and freshly cooked. We will be booking another stay when we need visit Scotland in the near future. A real hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed.

Whole heartedly recommend
Heads Nook Hall and all the staff were amazing. Beautiful historic Hall with gorgeous rooms. We stayed in the Gold room and it was really quiet, comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for an amazing time

Heads Nook Hall
Fabulous property. Nice, friendly staff, you can tell they really care about the Hall. I was in the Green room (no numbers here!) which was large with a nice comfortable bed. I'd have preferred a shower to the bath. Full breakfast included, although I only had cereals. Highly recommended.
