Comfortable Stay in BDX
I spent my last 3nts in FR at this part-hotel/residence /where I had a studio apt (w/fridge, stove, kettle, utensils/dishes): very clean w/massive bathroom & excellent layout. I was so tired by the end of the trip that I could have easily stayed in the room the whole time - it was really comfortable! Check-in with Malene? was a breeze & front-desk encounters were always good. What wasn't great was the renos of the premises meant having to circle the compound to enter a tiny opening of a gate to access the bldg within this complex. My room facing the youth hostel across the street meant no wandering around in my underwear but the powered blinds were a nice touch. Nighttime can get a little noisy as there were some partiers in the bldg who were peeing off their balcony but it wasn't so bad. Don't be alarmed by the youths in the street either as they are harmless. On one of the days a weird man followed me into the bldg but otherwise, it's safe. Some may not love the immediate area which is not central but a 20min walk will get you to Pl. de la Victoire where all the fun begins. Along the main road to the centre, you'll find many eateries, Marche du Capucine (go to Jean-Mi!), the airport bus; going the other way there is a SPAR and Gare St-Jean. It rained every 5mins so I thought I might use the basic gym/sauna at some pt but did not; there is also self-serve laundry and breakfast available though I did not make use of either but still very convenient to have so close by.

I think you can do better for this money. Not all the units have aircon and summers in Bordeaux can get really bad. The room was small; besides the bathroom and the corridor comprised more than have of the space. The cleaning service was actually the worst of my stay. The cleaning staff left my door OPENED three times out of five days despite my claims to the reception. I had to go to the reception to ask for toilet paper because they would not leave it. And, if I happened to leave any clothes on the bed, I would find them made a complete mess under the bed cover. I went to Bordeaux for a big conference and several of my colleagues found much better lodging for a similar price. I am sure you can do better if you plan ahead enough.

Nice 'Apart' hotel in Bordeaux
All Suites Appart Hotel Bordeaux Marne looks to be pretty new - in an interesting neighborhood, about a 12-minute walk from the St. Jean C-line tram stop (also a major train station) - google maps tells you to get off at Tauzia but the walk from this next stop is shorter and simpler. The rooms are studio apartments - mini kitchen and all. And very comfortable - good shower, quiet and there's a laundromat in the building. Pretty good grocery store not far. The neighborhood is interesting but by no means dangerous as some have mentioned - and definitely on the way up - lots of new construction. And, pretty dead at night - was in a small tavern on Friday afternoon and the owner was closing up at 6 - and stayed closed all weekend. Didn't do the breakfast - tempts you to eat too much. In summary, very nice facility, helpful and friendly staff and good access to the very good Bordeaux tram system.

Spacious apart hotel near the station
Overall stay was very pleasant. We booked an apartment, which had a good size bedroom with plenty of natural light. The apartment was had generous living room space, convenient kitchenette, and spacious restroom with a shower. The atmosphere was more like a business hotel but modern and clean. The staff were very friendly, although the check-in took a bit longer than expected. Laundry facility was nice to have, gym was simple but most equipment was out of order. The area is not as amicable but close to the station for convenience, and SPAR was right around the corner. There is a local marker in walking distance as well. Only issue was it gets a bit noisy during the day time because of the school right next to the hotel. If you want to take a rest during the day, it is not a good option.

Fantastic apartment
I stayed in a Comfort Studio (1double bed) and it was brilliant. Brand new room (the whole aparthotel is new), clean, spacious, big window. Hair dryer was really good, air con was very effective, lots of pillows and hangers. Water, tea and coffee and biscuits/cake in the kitchen on arrival, cleaning pack for the kitchen available upon request. Area outside apartment isn’t great, (machinery/metal fences/bad pavements) but they’re obviously redeveloping and it didn’t cause a problem, there was no noise disruption. Situated 5/10 mins walk from the train station, 5 mins walk from closest tram line. Easy to get to the centre (by foot or by tram). Spar, Lidl Andy other shops within a 5 minute walk. All reception staff very friendly and the gym is also good, basic but had all I needed for a couple of days, didn’t use the sauna. Thoroughly recommend this aparthotel, I really enjoyed my stay and the price was great up to others available.
