Mini Bar Madness
When I went to checkout the fun began. I’d like to checkout please. “Sir did you use any mini bar items“ No I didn’t. Employee taps away for 5 minutes. Me is everything ok. Yes Sir, hands me a picture of mini bar items and asks “did you eat any of these items”? Me for the second time NO. Taps away for another 5 mins. Again is everything ok. Hands the account over with all the mini bar items listed and credited back. I explained I didn’t use them and don’t want an account with the items credited if NOT used. But Sir I’ve refunded then.... I didn’t use/take the items and don’t want an itemised account showing them. Manager requested and told to wait, so take a seat. Manager comes over and tries to placate me. We head to room and after making polite chit chat open room door. Wow all the items are in the basket as they were when I checked in. Manager apologised and organised a correct account with No fake charges. BEWARE..,,,

Poor 2.0
This is a hostel not hotel.
Beware. This is a hostel and not a hotel. It does not even have a proper entrance and you have to enter from inside a restaurant or parking. Basic facilities which are standard are missing. There is nobody who picks call at reception if you call after 6pm. There is no kettle no wardrobe no fridge. There are not even hooks to hang your clothes. For hot water and ice there is cooler near the stairs where you can take the container they have provided. Reminds me of my college hostel. The breakfast is served at the same restaurant you enter from. Only hot item in breakfast is eggs. The staff is again indifferent and have don't care attitude. We wanted towels after 6pm. Nobody picked up. After going to reception they conveniently forgot and had to be reminded. There are total 3 lifts and one is permanently blocked(my guess building code of singapore at least one lift blocked for fire safety). So you will wait up to 10minutes to go up and down. I always thought singapore tourism authority had some certain basic requirements before they label the hotel star scheme. I was wrong when this hostel declared itself as a hotel and that too a 4 star.

Exceptional 10.0
Nice place to check out Singapore for a few days.
Staff was great! Rooms as noted in other reviews are not large but maybe normal for Singapore. There is not much storage space,,so it seems more like set up for living out of your suitcase. A/C worked great. Room was clean and tidy. Appreciated the boxes of drinking water ,refrigerator, coffee maker and kettle. We found the bed firm but comfortable. Large screen TV a plus and the safe. Breakfast was a nice touch with enough to get your morning started. Our only issue was dealing with the humidity and open air concept of the restaurants, but we are from an area of the US that has almost no humidity.

Great location of modern art hotel in Singapore
We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed the excellent location of Hotel G in between Bugis and Bencoolen MRT station in Singapore. The rooms were smaller than it looked on the picture, but had everything you needed (hair dryer, bottled water, keypad locker, vanity packs, toothbrush, coffee and tea). Coming from Hong Kong I didn't mind the 'cosyness' of the room too much. The only thing missing was a real wardrobe. They provided hangers on a rack opposite the bathroom for hanging clothes. There was a hot/cold water dispenser on the corridor as well as a ice cube dispenser - which we used to take on our day trips in a thermos bottle and had ice water during the day. The bed is very comfortable and the TV selection isn't huge, but decent (HBO, BBC, CNN etc). The best thing was the portable mobile phone called 'handy' which gives you a Singapore number and has data. Unfortunately the tethering as a hot spot wasn't a function that smart phone had, but it has special offerings for tourists which we used two of (city bus tour and night tour) and were happy to be able to go paperless and show the coupons on the phone without having to print out a confirmation or so. The breakfast (there is a discount if you order it beforehand) was plentiful as well and has both Western (cereal, bread, cold-cuts, scrambled eggs, bacon) and Chinese (congee, noodles) selection of food. All-in-all we were very happy with our stay at Hotel G Singapore.

Very good 8.0
The interior of this hotel is pretty chic, hip and trendy. For the price we are paying, it is a good deal. They have a decent selection of pastries served for breakfast as well. However, the windows are not able to be opened for ventilation therefore the room feels stuffy and smelled like used laundry when we checked in, probably caused by the dirty linens of the guests before us. Lifts are pretty slow as well and all lifts are occupied by cleaners in the morning to bring their soiled linens and towels to the loading bay for washing. We waited 15 minutes for lift during our stay when we were heading out in the morning around 11am.
