Quirky & in the good French Quarter, but ........
The guest house is very well situated in the French Quarter and we stayed 3 nights. The room and surrounding courtyard are quirky and nice. The room is small and with high ceilings and old world furnishings and charm. Many nice touches, but poor quality pillows and bedding. We arrived late on a Friday and there were entry instructions for us which involved the last digits of our contact number. What these were we never knew as they didn't match! We had to 'phone the owner & use his code. After that we used the code until it failed to work, but it didn't matter as the lock was so weak it could be pushed to one side to enter the room. We never did see anyone in the office that weekend, but perhaps as it's only six rooms and a weekend that's why. Three of the six rooms are up a very narrow side passage and involve passing the large old a/c units. It was a tight squeeze for us, and hot, and we're normal size. The a/c was very old and noisy so we had to switch off at night to get to sleep. On the second morning a cockroach joined us in bed and so made us uncomfortable about sleeping the final night. A shame we have to leave some negative comments because the area is good and the owners have obviously tried to make a good impression for guests. If you want a good area in which to stay with charm, and are prepared for some minor issues, then it's a good option. If not then choose the area and pay more for a larger hotel.

We stayed in the bunk house, which has bunk beds that were comfy, the only problem was the toilet was a bit small for my long legs, kelly was very friendly and helpful, the quest house is in a quiet area of the French Quarter but close enough to everything

Lovely location
Lovely location midway between Jackson Square and Frenchmen Street. Lots of character and the really helpful Kelly. If I returned I would not stay anywhere else.

Hidden Gem
We spent 3 nights at Royal Barracks Guest House, a real find for French Quarter accommodations. It is quiet, yet convenient to the party that is Bourbon Street, galleries on Royal Street, Frenchmen Street restaurants and art market, the French Market and the Riverfront Streetcar - easy walking or riding to everywhere we wanted to go. We stayed in the Blue Room, unique and funky, but quite comfortable.

Quaint New Orleans feel to the place. Half a block off off Bourbon street and just a few blocks fr Frenchmen street.
