Lovely independent hotel right on the beach. Rooms are large and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.

Excellent budget hotel in a great location
Location great, food at the hotel overall very good value except for the hit and miss breakfast. Stayed for 11 nights with our 2 year old. They changed our room after the first night as it was too dangerous on the 3rd floor for our daughter. Staff very helpful. Rooms could do with a fridge. Stunning views from all rooms. Puerto Morelos completely different from Cancun and Playa del Carmen - lovely, great value restaurants. Worth hiring a car when you are there. Hacienda Morelos well worth staying if you dont have the budget for the big hotels in the area. We made full use of the 5-7pm happy hour!

Disappointed
There's good and bad points to this hotel. The location is fantastic and all rooms have views over the sea. The king size bed and room size were good. The room needed modernising but did have a safe. We had no towels, or remotes for the a/c and tv so had to go back to reception for those. The wifi was a good strength but logged you out every time the device went to sleep. Complementary drink on arrive was welcome yet they never told us our room was ready so we had to find that out ourselves. Breakfast supplied but never tasted it as even though they said ready at 7.30am it wasn't and we had to leave at 8am for a dive trip. Unfortunately we changed hotel after the 1st night as the unbearable noise from a near by bar went on until 5am and then at 6.30am the wrought iron furniture on the terrace was being moved into place ready for breakfast. Wanted to love this hotel but couldn't. A no if you're a light sleeper!

Average hotel
Stayed 3 nights at Hacienda Morelos in early December. The hotel was average. It came with free breakfast that was good. Had dinner 1 night that was very disappointing. Ordered a hamburger and can of coke each (2) and paid cash. We gave the waiter $20. The waiter came back and said that it covered the bill. The hotel had a sign showing $1 US dollar = 20.5Mexican pesos. We knew ahead of time what the bill should have been. The waiter said it was an exchange rate of 16 pesos to a dollar. He didn't have an answer for the 4.5 peso difference. Also the burger wasn't good. The bun was dried out and everything on the burger was low quality. Certainly wasn't a $20 meal. Our room overlooked the gulf so it was a beautiful view. The downside was all of the brownish seaweed between the beach and the water. We knew of the issues of the seaweed this season, but wpuld have been nicer if more was removed. Puerto Morelos itself isn't much of an area to see.

Great stay for the price
The hotel was great and right on the beach. The area has a few shops and an huge supermarket but overall Puerto Morelos is a quiet town.
