I know it’s very easy to criticise a stay but we have stayed in most of the harbour hotels and this one lacks the sparkle we normally expect. Service was very slow and tables left uncleared for lengthy periods. Not blaming the good staff but they were sparse and under pressure. There were stains on the bed base and carpets and shower hard to use and this was in one the the most expensive rooms. We ordered room service one item didn’t turn up and the other was not what we ordered so again not great. We generally love the harbour group but after recent visits to salcombe beach hotel this was disappointing with few staff and little management influence.

Gorgeous views. Nice gym with sea views. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast, although we did chip a tooth on the granola. And the elevator broke at checkout time. But overall nice stay

The hotel is lovely, as always. Comfortable bed and cosy room. The only down side was having to wait an hour for 1 cooked breakfast. By which time, I had eaten my continental breakfast. It was so long that we had to ask them to delay our check out.
