Fishergate Apartments
Absent landlord, mis-advertising features.
Actual apartment fine and basic, but no-one on-site to help as everything is managed remotely! Bed wasn’t made for the kids, we had to do this ourselves. Check-in procedure frustrating, talking to someone through a “Ring” doorbell with a really bad connection that doesn’t work properly. “City view” actually means looking directly into Preston train station! Late trains with drunk passengers catching taxis noisy. There are only TWO free parking spaces. If full, you have to park at end of road and pay! Not ideal with small kids but luckily we didn’t have to do this. We had to text owner every morning to have heating turned on remotely (really annoying as was freezing). He commented it was odd as all other residents were turning their heating down as they were too hot. All a bit too “Big Brother” for me - I felt anything we were using was being remotely monitored. No coffee machine as advertised, no Smart tablet even though this is sold as a USP feature. Shower blocked but we were told there were no staff working over Xmas - this infuriated me as they were quite happy to take our money over Christmas!! Also no apology - when we told him he just texted “Noted”. Power failure on final day. Even though later established it was out of his control no-one even came to check it out. They only messaged us with an update 2hrs after we’d checked out. I’d rather book Premier Inn down the road who are more honest about what they offer and value their customers.

Could have been better.
Nothing wrong with the apartment and it did it’s job, but it could have done with being better equipped. Needed more crockery and milk. WiFi was good and it was a space that was conducive to work out of.

Handy for train station
Had a comfortable nights sleep and got my early morning train, only 2 minutes from station in fact from my room i could see the station. There is a late night sainsburys nearby to get any things and numerous eateries and takeaways.I would stay there again if in the area again.

Nice apartment, very close to the train station so would be ideal for commuters. The windows have noise reducing glass so the noise from the station isn't too bad, however when we stayed it was very hot and there is no air conditioning. I think it might be a good idea to provide fans during the summer months. Overall a good stay.

Excellent location
Easy to find, easy to access, easy to follow instructions about the apartment. Very clean- ideal as a " home from home" instead of a hotel bedroom. Plenty shops around to take advantage of kitchen facilities if you can't face going to a restaurant. I had used it as I needed an early start for a train back to London in the morning from Preston- only a 3 minute walk from the apartment. All in all it met all my particualr needs and would definitely recommend it as an alternative to a hotel.
