Studio Orient Bay

Great ocean view. A long but nice walk along the shoreline to the main area of orient beach. Renting a car worked well but be aware you will walk a hill from parking lot to unit, often in the dark. Local pizza very tasty but otherwise we cooked in the small but functional kitchen. No salt/pepper no coffee filters means more searching in the grocery store. Our unit was nicely decorated and fixed up inside. Happy to have nice shower with hot water. There is lots of construction underway on all buildings with roofs being rebuilt, hand railings patched or absent and no night lighting and few signs to gude you to your building in the gathering of multiple similar buildings. Driving directions from owners good but we could have used some more detailed direction to find the building we were staying in. We expected 1 building of units but it is a large complex of maybe 10-15 buildings. At present seems half empty due to reconstruction of units so quite quiet. And people we met very nice - some renting units while their own homes are repaired from hurricane irma so one needs to have some understanding of why pool not functional and outside buildings in some disrepair still. But when we arrived and were looking around as we walked to the unit we wondered what we would find inside. Fortunately it was nice inside. We enjoyed our stay there. It should be priced at a discount still due to reconstruction. But we felt comfortable there and did love having the ocean so close.

Our studio room--the same one shown in the picture, in fact--was perfect. Best feature was the beach-view patio! Amaury and his brother Thibault, the owners, are friendly as well as helpful. When we contacted Amaury to let him know that our microwave had stopped working, Thibault was at our with a replacement within the hour. I can't recommend Studio Orient Bay highly enough!

The Good: Location is AMAZING! DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH. Minutes from everything else.The owner is fantastic. He helped us carry our luggages up staircases. The studio is spacious and clean. Great TV/Wifi/Appliances/AC/Furniture. DON'T bring too much luggage. There's a washer and you dry on a clothes line on the balcony. The bad: The property was destroyed by hurricane so lots of repair going on around. The Ugly: The pool is not yet repaired. So it make a breeding pond for mosquitoes. We would stay there again and again. Great place if you are looking for Very functional and affordable. NOT posh but quite pleasant.

Great view of orient bay from balcony. Room and bed was very comfortable. Wifi never worked and when I searched the room for modem to check power I found no modem in the room. Very nice owner.

The apartment was great. Overall, the property was in good condition in spite of damage from hurricane Irma. The security team was very good as well.

While the area is still a little slow to recover from Irma, this location was perfect to get anywhere on the island in relatively little time. The interior of the room was beautiful and we were very comfortable. Great restaurants nearby. We were there for 8 days and my only complaint would be that we could have used more linen. The little kitchen was so nice to keep food and water in.

The property was very clean and comfortable close to the beaches. Not far from the town, shopping center and dining restaurants. Yes, We would return to the studio apartment. The pizza shop makes the “Best Pizza” . We had an awesome time despised of 5 -10minutes walk to the complex. Nearby complex were under renovation due to hurricane damages, suggesting place lighting up on the walkway for safety.

Still divested from hurricane. 15 minute beach walk to restaurants. Great price value but we stayed for only2 nights. We would not want to spend more time there. Unit is very spacious

We liked the modern renovation and beautiful view from balcony, and having beach chairs and umbrella to use, missed having washcloths. We had no problem with the exterior of the building g needing work. It was the cats around the building that people were putting out food for and the animals had gotten sick with vomit or diarrhea, and the urine smell around the building. The road in at one part and the lower parking lot were quite rough to ride over in a car. The bathroom had a chronic sewer odor and the bed was a bit hard (recommend a memory foam topper). And there was a gap under the door where critters could get in, and a blender for drinks would be nice. Could also use an inside table and chairs, could use for food prep, since there isn’t much counter space. But for just 2 nights we enjoyed the studio and balcony. Nice clothes rack dryer on porch too, very handy.

Completely grateful and happy to have chosen this place. the view is spectacular, the apartment very comfortable and spacious. I didn’t use the kitchen but it is very well equipped. They are already close to starting the remodeling of the common areas of the complex that include the pool, but we don’t miss it. Orient beach is beautiful, walking distance, and there are many other beaches and places to visit in St Marteen. It is admirable to see how they have been recovering after the hurricane Irma. Amaury and Theo are very helpful and attentive to the smallest detail. They even helped us a lot with their good suggestions. 100% recommended.
