Good value, beware the weird owner
A mix of good and bad Room was a good size, especially for the price. Very clean. Shower was fantastic - looked brand new and a luxury double-head. Free wifi which worked fine. Really nice big TV. Bed was pretty uncomfortable - didn't sleep well. Mattress felt either very cheap or old. Owner / reception chap was WEIRD when we checked in. We obviously checked in too late for his liking (about 1015pm) and he pointed out he'd TRIED TO CALL US ALL (we'd been out on business then for a bite to eat). I don't think that checking into a place billed as a hotel a bit after 10pm is unreasonable. But he was so weird and passive-aggressive about it, and made us feel so uncomfortable, that we actually joked about being murdered in the night. For that reason I probably wouldn't go back - it was the strangest and most uncomfortable check-in experience I'd ever had.

More of a motel than a hotel so not sure why this place has such a good rating. The place is clean But it’s a very cheap place (as in chipboard everything) just the bare necessities. Didnt even have a pen and paper. Check in lady was quick and nothing wrong with her but, like the hotel, very basic (here is your key, there is your room, the end). Bathroom was updated and bed was good enough and clean (had a double). Breakfast sounded nice but I didn’t get it. Backyard was nicest part. Did have parking down a steep narrow drive. You can hear the neighbors very easily but luckily the people were quiet. Additionally it is definitely Not a good neighborhood.

Very good 8.0
Service was poor, however, immaculate hotel.
I paid for my reservation online, the hotel receptionist was determine I hadnt paid and made me pay again, although I had paid by card he still asked for ID and wrote down my drivers license number, I believe the service provided was not up-to the friendly-est of standards. However, the hotel was immaculate. I had to chase up to get a refund for the additional payment that I had to make. Wasting time and money at the time as well.

Exceptional 10.0
Comfortable stay
Off street park at the rear was handy. Bed was comfy and tv and bathroom modern and clean. Wifi seemed a bit hit and miss at points in the evening. Only down side was two people sitting outside my window after 11pm chatting and smoking something with a strong smell that filtered into the room despite the windows being closed. There is no one at reception after 9.30 and I didn't feel comfortable challenging them. Not the hotels fault but why provide a bench outside a ground floor window.

Cheap Hotel with little character
An interesting building and back garden might be nice in the summer, but the rooms lack character and were a bit soulless. Smelled of varnish as obviously just painted the room and bathroom. Handy enough for Queens Park and Victoria Road areas, but the pubs are not exactly exciting around that area. On the plus side, it was cheap and nice and quiet. Probably comes into its own for families in the summer, but not much to interest Couples or for folks on business.
