Newnorthern Art Hotel
Lovely restored hotel with great art and furnitur.
Had the best night in a hotel I have had in years. Got upgraded room which was small but comfortable. The manager was very lovely and helpful. Downstairs lounge is a great place to hang out and the gallery very interesting. The whole building has been tastefully restored with a lot of interesting furniture and great art.

Newnorthern, great place to stay
The Newnorthern is a lovely, quaint B & B. On the Main Street but hardly noticed the traffic, there were earbuds in our room and we were concerned that it might get noisy but not at all. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

A charming stay in a beautiful Hotel
From the time my husband Neil and I arrived at the Hotel, we were made to feel very welcome and at home, by our Hostess, Karen. The Hotel is a charming old building. Our upstairs room was small but very clean and comfortable, and had easy access to the balcony. The balcony has plenty of seating and tables, and was a pleasant area to sit with a cuppa or glass of wine. There were tea-making facilities in our room The large guest fridge is in the hallway. Some rooms have external private bathrooms, however, our room had an ensuite. We had full use of the beautiful dining area downstairs, full of charming furniture, where we could enjoy the breakfast goodies left out for us by Karen. The only criticism I have is that there are no wardrobes or cupboards in the room, just a few hangers for clothing on the back of the door, possibly because the room is quite small. Also, the bathroom did not have any cabinets, just a small stool to rest toiletries on. This is fine if only staying for one night. We found the location perfect and walking distance to the city centre. There is also a little café directly behind the Hotel, that make lovely coffees. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel, and would recommend it for a short-stay trip.

New years eve 2017
The staff were friendly- very welcoming. The room was up 2 flights of stairs and queen sized with unattached ensuite that was private and just around the corner from the room. The hallway led to a balcony that supplied a group of communal chairs and table for reading , watching , chatting, coffee /tea drinking . The bed was comfortable and the style in keeping with the hotel era..The room supplied tea/coffee but cafe style coffee was supplied by the staff in the lounge area of the hotel. Booking in occurred in between 2 set times and was easy and comfortable with welcoming port or hot /cold drink.Continental breakfast was included in the cost and the atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxing in the lounge/ library or chatting to other guests- worth a visit and stay just to see the furniture.
