Very good 8.0
Great stay overall, although noisy at times.
The hotel is brand spanking new, very modern and designed well. They have only been open 7 days prior to my stay there. So I was one of the first customers. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a lot of perks in them. (Safe, Fridge, Internet TV, Coffee maker, Rainforest shower :)) The beds are very comfortable and the internet is free and works well, although be aware to get it to work on a laptop, you need to use the Internet Explorer browser. I had a little frustration getting it to connect till I figured that out. On my Android phone however it worked fine. There were only a few things that stand out that made my stay less than perfect. One was there is Valet only parking, and parking is $40 a night to stay. The parking lot is a hop away from the entrance so I wanted to park my own car and they let me, but locked up my keys stating it was for security purposes. So just be aware of that. The second thing is it was a little noisy at times. I was on the 5th floor and the walls seemed very thin. I could hear the people next door talking and around 12 AM they were banging around stuff in the closet and it sounded like they were throwing bowling balls in there. It woke me up out of a dead sleep. Also, there are trolly lines outside and you could hear them on the tracks going back and forth. I thought it was wind chimes at first lol. Other than those few things, I would totally recommend this hotel. It was priced right and the staff was great!!!!

A Detailed Review
Overall it was a great place to stay. The 1st night we were there we had 3 issues. 1. We got in late (around 10 pm) and the city was working on the train tracks right outside of our room until around 2am. I called the front desk and was told they never know when that is going to happen and that there is a white noise machine in the room that helps, and I received an apology and approximate time they would finish which was about 2 hours later. 2. The under sheet on the bed had an old brownish red stain on it. I asked housekeeping to change it the next day but she didn’t have anymore bottom sheets so we had to sleep with it on there. 3. Our sink didn’t work. The stopper would not open. It was repaired as soon as we woke up the next morning. They offered to comp our breakfast for the trouble or take something off of our room stay but because we booked through a travel site they couldn’t. The overall aesthetic of the hotel is nice! Super modern, clean and minimal. The showers were nice, rain showers and hand held options. Love the faux wood floors throughout. But for us the bed was uncomfortable I could feel the springs and the comforter cover was really thin. We ate at the restaurant downstairs for dinner and the food was pretty good. In spite of everything I would give our experience a 4.5 out of 5 stars overall

Poor 2.0
First night we had problem with room temperature, when asked to adjust the temp to higher than 71, sent a person to fix he could not and their solution was wait until tomorrow morning, when insisted and did not receive reasonable response, packed to leave the hotel, then offered another room before taking family there I went to check, same type of problem with that room, when called front office by hearing my voice rudely inquired "what now?" when they claimed all rooms are occupied we felt there was not that much occupancy and they stated the plan is to move a guest from that room to our room, we did not feel or see that at that point I started questioning the honesty, so we decided to stay in first room , very small room with idea most likely could get warmer if we stay all night, then I got another response stating the temp set is like that and could not be changed, one family member caught cold that night next day thermostat was unlocked?!!! and we could change temp, no one stepped forward to apologize or say something, very unprofessional staff and management, regardless price is reasonable but that does not justify rudness and unprofessionalism all over. We felt even we were tagged and replacing consumables everyday was not done for entire stay.

Excellent BC parents weekend spot
We stayed here for parents weekend at Boston College and the hotel did an outstanding job of welcoming parents with gift bags, treats in the lobby, shuttles, etc. The lobby is sleek and attractive and has a fun vibe. The front desk people are great and it is in a wonderful location for visiting students at BC. The rooms also have a nice modern decor...but there are two issues to know about staying here. First, the rooms are quite dark as all the lighting is small and very focused. Very hard to read or see anything in your suitcase without reaching for your phone flashlight. Second, the acoustics for inside noise are terrible. They did an excellent job of soundproofing for outdoor noise but you hear EVERYTHING in the hall and in rooms above when staying here. It is really frustrating if you are a light or sensitive sleeper as I am. There is also an issue with the air conditioning blowing right on you if you are in one of the smallest rooms they offer. I recommend trying to stay in a slightly larger room with a pullout sofa to avoid that design flaw. On a positive note, they have a very nice workout facility. I did not eat here but the breakfast looks good.

Super location but LOUD!
The AC Hotel is in a great location, having close proximity to Boston College, and both the “D” and “C” lines. It is modern in design. The beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms are large enough to allow two people to get ready at the same time. The unfortunate thing about this hotel is that it is very cheaply constructed. Unless you stay on the top (fifth) floor, you are able to hear people above you. You are also able to hear conversations in the hallway, as well as from the adjoining rooms. This is a known problem, as the hotel provides “white noise machines” upon request. The power also went out while we were there and no compensation was offered. There also appears to be a problem with front desk staff following through with requests. We changed rooms (due to noise) and I left a pair of glasses behind. It took three days and multiple requests to finally locate them. 5 people said that they would get back to me as to the whereabouts of the glasses, but never did. Finally on the last day of our stay, I was contacted about them...after I had already left Boston. Ridiculous.
