Cosy, comfortable room with good breakfast
Stayed in a deluxe double with my boyfriend and had a lovely time, very comfortable and cosy room with complementary tea and coffee facilities and a TV. The heater was a little noisy and we could hear people walking around outside the room so we were a little worried about being too loud but we had no problems overall. Shower was clean but a little cold, we were a little unsure how to use it. There is a Sainsbury’s a couple of buildings down and the reception is 24 hours which is handy as we took a walk to Canary Wharf in the evening, which is very beautiful with lots of restaurants. Although it is a 20min walk away I advise getting the DLR from blackwall or poplar station as there was no crossing to get across the busy road for pedestrians only cars so we ended up walking all the way round and walking up the overpass at poplar station. For breakfast as much cereal, toast, pastries and tea/coffee as you want. The cooked breakfast included was 5 items and adequate and filling for the rest of the day. I also asked for a latte as an extra but the milk was burnt and it didn’t taste very nice so I would recommend just sticking to the free tea and coffee. Maybe some training on the coffee machine is needed or a different brand of coffee. The restaurant is very pleasing to the eye and the staff were friendly. As one of the cheaper hotels we looked at in London it was very good for the price and location as we enjoyed walking around Canary Wharf. Would definitely stay again!

So bad, I left before even giving it a try
I ended up NOT staying at the hotel and will explain why in this small review. For my work I'm staying in hotels pretty much 24/7 and I'm used to all forms of hotels. Booking this hotel I found it looked fairly decent on the site especially considering the location and the price. When arriving I was greeted by some friendly staff who were quick to check me in in a nice air conditioned area (mind you, it was summer, but not all that warm outside) After my check in completed I was lead to my room. When I got to the room it turned out the rooms itself DO NOT have ANY AC. Also, this was supposed to be one of their superior rooms but had NO OUTSIDE WINDOWS. The manager was quick to come to my room as he must have heard from his colleague I was extremely unhappy with the conditions of this holding cell. They offered me another room, which was smaller and only had a small window, but was still too warm. Needless to say I asked for a refund, which the hotel staff was quick to grant, and went to an exquisite hotel just down the road from there which I would really advice anyone to stay at!. the staff from the Lansbury Heritage Hotel were extremely accommodating, upgraded my room when they heard my story, and got me into what might have been the best room I've stayed in in London. Full air conditioning, great internet, awesome service, and an overall great experience is waiting just down the road from Docklands Lodge. Considering staying in the area? DON'T stay at the Dockalnds Lodge!!

Never stay again
The hotel is more of a hostel type model rather than full hotel. Due to unclear booking information I had to upgrade to a room with a private bathroom. For the most part, bathroom facilities are shared. It was clear they were used to dealing with this issue upon check in. Ended up paying just over £120 for one night. Not worth it. Room was unclean and not maintained. Damp stains everywhere. Actual filth on some furniture. Dust everywhere (even ontop of a lamp shade). Disgusting. Very noisy too. Evening staff member not attentive and was more interested in having a personal phone call then sorting out my request for an iron and ironing board. Requested at just after 11pm and offered to take it myself. Not given these until just before midnight. Wifi not secure. Avoid unless paying £40-£60 per night. Also I had requested that I pay when I checkin, but hotel took payment for my room before I had gotten there. Mis use of my credit card. I would suggest hotels.com not use them.

London lodge watch the dodgy hotel service cars
The room was well finished , it was a clean hotel & receptionist was friendly however , the bathroom was separate to the bedroom ie out of the room & up the hall way , there was no bar ie: no bar serving alcohol & there was no food service, when I asked about a taxi I was advised the (hotel service ) taxi would cost me £20 from my location to London city approx 9 mins away , turns out it was 6 mins away at 06:30am and a local taxi charged only £6:50 ,, the stay at this hotel should be no more than £60 in peak / hard to get , no other rooms available anywhere in the world,, but still not worth more than £60 , the receptionist was very helpful

Clean hotel, disappointing claustrophobic room
We stayed on a warm Saturday night. Our room had a double bed and a single bed - we were two adults and a child staying. Whilst the hotel was modern and clean, with shared toilets and showers. Unfortunately, our room had no window and no ventilation. It felt a good ten degrees warmer inside our room than in the hallway, and despite being given the largest fan in the hotel there was no way to cool the room, just recirculate the muggy warm air. The doors were too heavy to prop the door open to cool from the hallway, we were so claustrophobic inside we tried to do this with a pillow to little effect (or privacy, or security). Overall it was a really miserable stay and hotel staff agreed and apologised to us. We were told on check out that we would be compensated once the hotel manager was back on duty, but so far we have not heard anything. Really disappointing experience.
