Great location!
They are in a great location - my daughter was there for Boston University orientation so this was great for me. I had read such great reviews. I was so so about the place. First, I was below street level which is not so great and the staff person made sure to tell me that I should close the blinds in a certain way for nobody to see in. She was very nice but the room location was far from ordeal. The room was fine - very eclectic from a decorating standpoint which I'm sure is great for others but not necessarily my style. Breakfast was plentiful if you only want cakes, muffins and fruits. I went out. Again, great location, super nice and friendly staff but not my style and was a bit expensive for what it was.

Great People
Really enjoyed my stay. The room was nice and comfortable. Enjoyed the kitchen in the room which was equipped with full size fridge, dishwasher, stove, etc. This B&B is really well done and the people are very friendly. They walked me to my room and showed me how to use the AC and Heat, etc. Called me by name when I arrived and each time I returned. It was also a bonus that the home is somewhat close to a bus stop and the subway. There are also a couple of decent food options somewhat close. Keep in mind this place may not work well for people who struggle with stairs. I was there on days continental breakfast was served so I cannot speak to the quality of the breakfast buffet.

WAY above the average hotel stay!
My stay at the Gryphon House was amazing. The location is central to pretty much everything of interest in Boston and the property itself is full of charm. It is a 1895 townhouse that still has a lot of it's original architectural features. Each room is very spacious. Ours came with a small kitchen, queen bed along with an additional twin bed, sofa, flat screen tv, window seat and much more. You really need to take a look at the pictures of this place to fully appreciate that you aren't getting your average cookie cutter hotel room. The attention to detail throughout the property is truly outstanding. You are given a decent breakfast as a bonus and there is off street parking for a small additional fee. The staff is available and willing to accommodate any additional requests quickly. The price for all this luxury and service is also surprisingly low for that you are getting. To sum up, if you are looking for a above average stay at a beautiful property this is it!

It was a short visit, we only stayed one night, but everyone was very nice and helpful. The young lady at the front desk was very nice, and let us hang out in the lobby for awhile, after we checked out, since our flight was delayed, which was extremely helpful! It was nice and hot while we were there, but the a/c worked very well in the room and the lobby. The stairs going down were a little steep, but it sure is a beautiful place! It's within easy walking distance to some great shops, restaurants and beautiful parks. Oh, and it's an easy, safe walk to Fenway Park if you want to see a baseball game! Enjoy!

Great Place to stay in Back Bay, Kenmore area -
Building is an old beautifully restored five story "brownstone". Breakfast was a continental each day with coffee and other beverages readily available. Bed was comfortable and clean. Housekeeping respected "DND",and rooms, common areas were very clean. The only drawback was the construction across the street from the building. should be done shortly and cleaned up. Parking was easy, an there were plenty of restaurants and places of interest in the Kenmore Square, Back Bay area. Purchased a gift certificate for friends to stay here.
