Exceptional 10.0
We were delayed in our arrival but we were made to feel welcome by the staff even though it was approaching midnight. The wrong was super comfortable and spacious. The service at breakfast was wonderful. Have no faults to find at all and we hope to return and spend longer here

Exceptional 10.0
Fantastic spot to stay in beautiful Winchester. Staff are a real credit to the owners. Food great. Best breakfast we have had in a hotel/pub for a long time. Room lovely, great little extras and love the local designer theme. Would highly recommend.

Good 6.0
Very helpful staff but some things need improving.
I arrived late (10:15pm) as I got lost in the narrow street and 1-way system. the staff were good enough to wait and let me in before leaving. I was given a "Resident" parking permit and had to look for an empty space along rhe nearby streets, no mean feat on a Sunday evening when most local residents are home. My room was the standard double room on 1st floor overlooing a little courtyard on the Little Minster side. Whilst the room was comfortable and a good range of amenities were provided, some of the fixtures were a bit tired. The joint above the shower head had a leak and produced a fine spray over the top of the shower screen. When I finished showering, the bathroom floor was drenched and I had to mop the floor with the floor mat and spare towels. The beddings were very nice and l had a good sleep. However, I was woken up at 7am as staff opened up downstairs, probably putting down chairs from table tops onto the wooden floor and moving them around, and chatting. This was a minor irritation but it was probably time to get up anyway and so, not a big deal. A good range of food was on offer for breakfast and they were freshly made. However, the "full English" was really no better than a motorway Little Chef - the bacon was very dry and salty, the sausage was tasteless, the finely cut mushrooms were greasy and the rubbery poached eggs look like they came out of a plastic mould. Overall, the staff were great but there are a few things to improve.

Very good 8.0
No complaints but expensive for what it is
The location is central and great for exploring the city. The building is old and full of character, as evidenced by the uneven and sloping floors. The room was large, as was the bathroom, and the bed was comfortable. Although there were no complaints regarding the stay, it was not cheap and I'm not sure that it was worth the price tag of £200 per night.
