About this cottage
This cottage has a wonderful front porch for enjoying sitting outside and relaxing. The view is of Teeters campground. It was renovated in 2018 and a second bedroom was added in 2019. It is a two bedroom (queen in the master and bunk beds in the other)we do NOT provide sheets, one bath, open floor plan with living room and kitchen. The kitchen is very basic, if you are looking to cook gourmet meals, this is NOT the place for you. Ocracoke has many wonderful restaurants. The location is within walking distance to Silver Lake and the shops and restaurants and is spitting distance from the British Cemetery. The beach is a mile from the rental. There is a Smart TV in the first bedroom and living room with internet and cable. You will need your own Netflix, Hulu or Amazon account, and for those that are not tech savvy, we have cable. We do NOT post on Craigslist, so if you see it there it is not us renting it. We only go through VRBO/Home Away.

Perfectly organized

Charming house in the heart of Ocracoke
Our family of four enjoyed our time at The Buccaneer! The location was ideal, being walking distance from many excellent restaurants and shops, and other locations like the lighthouse and Springers Point were just a short bike ride away. The house was clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Perfect getaway
Nice house for 2 adults and a medium dog. We come to the island every year and always try a diff place. This year we tried this spot and were very happy with it. Walking distance to all restaurants ( brewery kinda far but walkable) Zillies super close and parking for you car in front of house. Nice outdoor shower in the back and front porch is nice. Not screened in but used it every night and wasn’t (buggy) . Right across from campground which is very quiet. Inside of house is clean. Furniture was clean and inviting. Do not be fooled by pictures of the outside this place is a gem for a weekend or a week on the island!

Vacay with my family
We wanted to rent something small for our family of 5. Small and not to fancy since we were really going to just sleep and shower there. Most of our time was exploring, eating out, beach, and shopping around. This house was perfect for us. We think clean wise it could of been better, a couple of snack crumbs and beds were not made. But the bed thing didn’t really bother us, we brought our own sheets, pillows and covers. Overall, our stay at the buccaneer was great.

This is their best cottage with a covered porch and great chairs in doors. We love staying at the Buccaneer or Little Buc but the Buccaneer is our first choice

Perfect for us!
We've been visiting Ocracoke for a number of years staying at various locations from the Anchorage Inn to a few of the big houses. This year it was just my immediate family of four (wife and two daughter (13 & 6)). Too big for a motel (for more than a day), too small for the 6 bedroom condos- just right for the Buccaneer! Location is perfect- close to Back Rd, boat launch, beach ramps, and Ocracoke's main stretch, but far enough away from the constant traffic. Enough parking for two cars, trailer, and golf cart. Area was quiet, even on the night of July 4! Inside was clean and spacious, it feels bigger than the listed 500sqft. (Why spend about the same for a motel room with less space and amenities?). Living room was large enough for everyone, and each bedroom had AC. Queen bed was comfortable and my girls said the bunk beds were fine (they slept well). We only used the kitchen for breakfast, but could have prepared dinners. Two things we didn't know before getting there that may help you- there is a charcoal grill on the porch and there is a Keurig (as well as the drip style coffee maker). Outdoor shower is a huge plus after a day at the beach, greatly diminishes the amount of sand that gets in. The front porch is great for morning coffee and an evening beverage...it was also welcome additional space for the one rain day we got. Would we stay again? Absolutely- already booked it for next July 4th!
