Good 6.0
Arrived and found scaffolding all over and wondered if it was even open. Staff very nice, Food good. The room I was in was lovely and obviously has been redecorate with new furniture but one disappointment was I could not open the window but was provided with a fan. Bed was really comfortable and I slept really well. Only other criticism was no hairdryer in the room but luckily my colleague had one otherwise it would have been tricky as we were staying there due to work

Good 6.0
Nice hotel but noisy floors are a problem
The hotel is in a great location for exploring the New Forest, just outside Lyndhurst. Our room was a Superior double room, and it was spacious with a 2-seater sofa, and plenty of wardrobe & drawer space. The bathroom had a bath tub & shower in the bath that worked quite well. I market it down for cleanliness as the day we arrived the bedroom carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered properly as there was quite a lot of fluff on it, and on the floor we found instructions for a mobile phone which had been left by a previous occupant but not spotted during cleaning. The bed was comfortable with good pillows. The main issue with the room was that the floors were extremely creaky, but that also meant that we could hear every footstep in the room upstairs, and we could even hear them talking. So my recommendation is that you have a room on the top floor as we found it quite annoying. We could hear their dog barking too. The room also had a mini fridge which was a mixed blessing. It was lovely that they had put fresh milk in it for us, but the fridge made quite a lot of noise during the night. Breakfast was good and reasonable. I appreciate we were there over Easter, but we did find their rate for an evening meal rather expensive, and chose to eat elsewhere. Overall, the friendliness of all the staff made us feel very welcome, and with a little investment in new carpets (as those on the stairs and in our room were badly worn) it is a nice place to stay.

Very good 8.0
Short Stay in Spring
Hotel has a bit of character, quite spacious comfortable room with excellent ensuite. Our room had a nice view across to the forest. Fair bit of traffic during the day but quiet at night. We were out sightseeing all day, so didn't try the food, but the options looked good. Nice conservatory for when the weather's a bit cooler. Staff were friendly and always around when needed. Location is less than 5 minutes' walk into the forest park (complete with New Forest ponies), and less than 10 minutes' walk into the village which had interesting shops and good dining options (brilliant Thai restaurant Anissa's Kitchen). Village of Lyndhurst is quite central, so a good base for exploring the area. Will almost certainly return here.

Exceptional 10.0
Wonderfully welcoming.
Wonderfully welcoming. Right opposite the New Forest walks. Nice rooms. Short walk to lovely restaurants in town. Free parking. Best of all was the service! The receptionist or duty manager Lauren was absolutely amazing. Very polite, helpful, professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us so welcome. Best staff of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Really impressed and it made all the difference. Breakfast was delicious. Afternoon tea in the conservatory was lovely too with the Rocky Road cakes! Yum.

Highly recommended
We stayed one night. Wish it was more as the hotel was in a great location, staff were very efficient and accomadating, willing to help anyway they can. Room was very comfortable with lots of cupboards and draws. Pleanty of tea , coffee and milk in the room. We booked for Bed , breakfast and evening meal . We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of service and the delicious meal specially in the evening. Great variety at breakfast. Sujatha at the reception was exceptionally good. Thank you.
