Wonderful Place to Escape
Simply stunning country pub and accommodation with wonderful hosts and an interesting mix of locals! The location and quality of the place makes for a perfect getaway on a leisure visit. The accommodation is well appointed, very clean and has all the conveniences you need for a leisure stay. I would have scored this accommodation 5 out of 5 if it had wifi to the room - there is very good wifi in the bar area and plenty of seating.

Community pub in idyllic village
The Hollybush is in an idyllic little village in a lovely part of South Wales. The staff were extremely welcoming - reception is in the bar of the pub. We were shown to our room, which was in a cottage in the grounds of the pub. The room was well furnished with some nice little touches. The TV was very small, but no problems with this stay. We ate a lovely meal in the pub - really good food. Breakfast was provided in the room - cereals, croissants, Welsh Cakes. The pub has a good community feel and we felt included. Could benefit from WiFi but was OK for a night. Altogether a good stay in a quiet, friendly place and would use it again.

Loved it!!
We absolutely LOVED The Hollybush! Thanks to Hotels.com for helping find this little gem. We wanted a place close enough to hit Caerphilly Castle in the morning and then head out castle hopping to Raglan, White, etc. We read a lot of exceptional reviews about the food (and the were not wrong!) but not many about the hotel side. We were glad we took a chance!! Folks were busy setting up for a wedding the next day, but we were immediately given attention, made comfortable, and beyond! Cannot say enough about how charming the people and place were!! They have done an exceptional job in every aspect of what they have updated here. The only "downside" would be that the room could use a little update, newer mattress, etc. (but I prefer a really firm bed, and maybe I'm quibbling; I slept SOUNDLY!). This was one of favorite places (and meals) on our entire trip in London, Wales, and then Ireland!
