The room was tiny, maybe 10ft x 15ft, with the bathroom and shower above the bed. There was no handrail to the outside of the very steep concrete staircase, which I feel is an accident waiting to happen.

For Cuba this is one of the best places to stay

Great location, and a great hotel for Cuba! The room is a little damp as it doesn’t have any windows, but overall I enjoyed my stay! Staff are really friendly and helpful and a lovely rooftop bar

Great location for exploring old Havana.

Hotel is in a great location for exploring the local attractions and sights; it’s also very close to many restaurants for meals. The room itself was small and there wasn’t a great deal of space once 2 of us and our suitcases were in the room. My husband is 5’ 10 and found his feet hung off the bed (to be fair I’m 5’ 3 and if I didn’t move right up the bed, mine did too). If you don’t like heights or struggle with stairs be aware the bathroom is up some quite narrow stairs that don’t have a rail on the outside. You can also see straight into the bathroom from downstairs as its wall is a glass pane. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and always willing to help. Anything we asked for they were able to accommodate very quickly. The breakfast on the rooftop was reasonably priced (5CUC) and very nice. What stops this being 5*? Everything comes at an extra cost, you get only 15mins of free WiFi then it’s 2.50CUC and every time you logo you are charged even though it often doesn’t work and connection is very patchy. You can’t track your usage without asking at reception. Additionally, as tourists you are recommended not to drink tap water but the hotel charges for bottled water, which, even though not expensive, can add up when buying a few each a day. Finally, there are no bathroom amenities, which is not an issue for us as we always take our own but for those who prefer to use what the hotel provides - they don’t. Overall, it was a good base for a reasonalbe rate

    Great location and great value

In a fantastic location in the Arts quarter near to the bay , an easy walk to the Malecon and also to all parts of Old Havana whilst being on one of the quieter streets. Bars and restaurants on the doorstep. The room was bright and well lit, comfy bed with no footboard so great for tall people, air con good, shower good, no toiletries and no tea /coffee facilities but a good fridge. Room was clean apart from the floors which were dirty as were the bathmats but towels were clean. Like anywhere in Havana if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs but the hotel was quieter than many. Light was a bit of a pain as a light sleeper as no covers over some of the windows into the corriders I tried to switch off some of the corridor lights which meant I could at least get to sleep. Roof terrace is nice room to sit and chill, breakfast we did not try as so many places to try, Dinner we ate on first night which was fine only one dish available off the menu. Wifi was powerful and you get 15 mins free. Included 2 cocktails free as well for a couple which was nice. a very well priced hotel and good value for money.

Not for guests with mobility issues

Hotel clean and staff helpful. Hotel not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as roof terrace and restaurant accessed by quite steep and numerous stairs. Our standard room although very clean was compact without window Bathroom open plan up a floating staircase which could be a problem for many people Daunting at first but got used to it!! Needs to be made clear to prospective guests .

Great value stay - friendly staff

Arrival We arrived at the hotel at around 9:30PM thanks to maps.me, otherwise I don’t think we would have found it, the outside signage could be improved. Check in was smooth, passports were photographed, no deposit taken and we were given the key to our room on the 3rd floor (one below rooftop). Hallways are very narrow so carrying a large suitcase may prove a challenge for some. Room The room was clean and as pictured, including body wash and shampoo (although we brought our own). Air conditioner was excellent and had to be turned to the lowest speed as it was so efficient. The room also includes a minibar with drinks at a good price (1.5cuc for soft drinks). Shower pressure was also very good. 2 things that could be improved, more storage area, maybe a chest of drawers or some shelves, and also some sort of screen to separate the bedroom from toilet. Services Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, front desk all speaking English, in the rooftop (bar/kitchen) however not so much. Front desk team were able to organise reservations for us as well as taxis which was very helpful. Nearby I would recommend visits to “Mas Havana” & “5 Sentidos” both which are short walks from the hotel. Overall a great value experience and would definitely return!

    Excellent location! Staff were brilliant.

Nicely refurbished. Great food and drinks. Great location. However, the layout of the building and rooms means noise travels, alot. If you are a light sleeper it would not be suitable.

    Solo stay in Havana

As a solo female traveller this is a wonderful, clean, safe, calm and welcoming place to stay right in the centre of the old city. Havana is a lively, busy, colourful city to negotiate and I found this quiet, minimally elegant, compact hotel a really restful and relaxing place to start and end each day. All of the staff are kind, helpful and friendly. The roof terrace is a fantastic space to watch and listen to the city from.

    Nice hostal in Havana Vieja

The hostal is located 2 minutes from the Malecòn and within reach of everything else, havana vieja, museo de la revolucion, parque central, etc. The rooms are very basic, some safety issues there as the bathroom is on the mezzanine and the staircase is very very dangerous. The rooms have no windows, neither ventilation so it smells dump and humid, humidity is at highest levels. Rooms are very basic but clean and they serviced it every day. The plus is the rooftop terrace, very cute, I had breakfast there twice for 5CUC and the batido de fruta was delicious, I was told they have a very good cook for lunch/dinner but I did not manage to try. Beware: 1. No one else is allowed on the premises, not even to go to the rooftop, which was very annoying 2. The door is locked at night and if you’re late, you’ve got to ring the bell so that the man sleeping in the reception opens the door for you, which feels a bit weird if you’re not used to. The staffs are all very nice, smiley and always willing to help with recommendations or with bookings. Overall a good experience.
