11/10 for a short break in Devon.
From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very, very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for any one of the staff. Our room, number 1, a mini suite, was spacious and very well appoìnted: ample tea and coffee, a sumptuous bathroom with plenty of toiletries a very comfortable bed with fabulous pillows. That is often my biggest criticism- no attention is paid to pillows! We ate both nights in the restaurant and weren't disappointed. The menu isn't ext ensive but caters for all tastes, with a choice of a la carte or table d'hote. The young restaurant / bar team was no less than excellent; solicitous without being intrusive. We went on business but it turned into a very relaxing and pleasant stay, thanks to all the staff. We shall definitely make a return visit.

Excellent hotel
A very enjoyable stay. The room was really comfortable, excellent meals and attentive staff. Some alterations to the hotel were in progress at the time but didn't detract from our enjoyment in any way. Would definately stay again if in the area.
