Cute hotel - but wouldn’t stay again
Our stay was ok... our room had a horrible, musky/moldy smell. We could have said something but figured we would only be there to sleep, which was the case- so didn’t bother. Our fault for putting up with it. Breakfast was great the first day and we received great service, but the second day, we arrived at 9:15. It took 40 min for them to re-fill the food items, including water and juice which were all empty. One random occurrence I experienced (and am still confused about) was the fact that this man knocked and burst into our room. Thank goodness I had just put my dress on and had been by the door. I was a bit startled and he just said ‘pardon’ and scurried off. Turns out he was the general manager, but no explanation whatsoever as to what he was doing, why he was there and why he just walked into our room at 10am!

Good 6.0
Room was a reasonable size, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean with a good shower. However there were a few problems: The bed was comfortable to start with but we both woke up far too hot during the night, each night we were there. Through past experience I think this was due to a “memory foam” layer on top of the mattress. There were very extensive roadworks going on around the hotel, making it almost impossible to reach the building on foot without walking on unmade footpaths. We were informed at check-in that a continental breakfast in the hotel would cost 19 Euros per person per day. To my mind this is extortionate, so we didn’t try the hotel breakfast. Fortunately there are several places near the St Jean station where you can buy a good breakfast for €6.50 per person. Would I stay here again on another trip to Bordeaux? Probably not - I would go for somewhere more central.

A great 4 night stay
A practically new hotel with an excellent modern look and feel. As other reviewers have said, the location means you gain in proximity to the railway station (we arrived by TGV) but lose a little in distance from the city centre. The tram connection to the main sights is currently suspended due to maintenance works in that section, but there are frequent buses on the same route. It’s very easy to buy transport tickets covering both trams and buses, which are in fact passes which can be topped up again we discovered. Overall, a great base to explore a fascinating city.

Hotel is new and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even offering us umbrellas for when it was raining. The area around was all under construction and hard to get around. Not very close to any shops or restaurants.

Nice stay
It’s a nice hotel in a new renovated area. The only issue is that there is a lot of construction around so make sure to take a room that is not facing the construction. The staff is polite and very helpful. It’s clean and close to city.
