The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
8 nights on a business trip: The Good: room was brand new, sparkling clean, good view (8th floor), friendly service (including late checkout at 3pm), Wifi works well and the location of the hotel is very central. The Bad: room is small, has no closet or shelves (only 4 hangars), so shirts, everything has to stay in the suitcase the whole time. No desk or table, so no way to use a laptop (except sitting on the bed). Bathroom also has no shelves, so no place to put anything. The Ugly: a lent an electric adapter to a colleague and he left it to me at the reception before he checked out. When I came in the afternoon, they didn't find it and told me to check with the night shift. Same with the night shift who told me to check with the morning shift. The morning shift told me to email the manager. Manager responded after 2 days (I was gone by then), saying he has found the adapter, and "generously" offered to keep it for me until the next time I'm there (no plans for the upcoming years). I asked a friend in London to go by there and take it.

Poor 2.0
I stayed here for two days in October 2018. Somebody went over my bags and tried to steal by money (about Euro 700). The hotel does not have a safety deposit box so I tried to hide by money in a hidden pocket in my bag. I strongly suspect that the housekeeper went through all my belongings. I discovered this when I was packing and getting ready to check out. The hidden pocket was unzipped and the money gone. I confronted the housekeeper on my floor and went to the front desk to complain. I was gone from my room for about 15 minutes while discussing this with the manager who accompanied me back to my room. The money was returned but the zipper of my bag was still open. I NEVER touched or opened this part of the bag. Other than the front desk, it was only the housekeeper who knew about my loss. The front desk (not the manager) told me that they have the housekeepers contracted out. What is the process for vetting third party personnel? I read in the review that there was also somebody who lost earrings so this is not an isolated incident. Why doesn't the hotel have a safety deposit box inside each room? While the management was very helpful, they denied that somebody accessed my room through their electronic tracking of card keys and also CCTV. I vehemently reject that finding. It was very troubling to know that somebody went through my bags. I left very early for Heathrow and was five hours early for my flight. I did not feel safe in that hotel.

What a great find!! :)
What a fantastic find! We were looking for something conveniently located to her majesty’s theatre and not too expensive. Stumbled upon this hotel, as we reduced the slider on hotels.com to under £150, and it was one of a few that was still available! We couldn’t be more happier that it was available and at such a reasonable price!! Check in / out was so easy and the room / shower was absolutely superb. Clean, tidy and the perfect size. We went for the 10 square metre room. Ignore reviews that say the room is too small, basic maths can help you work out what this space is like so it shouldn’t be a surprise at the size, plus I always visit the hotels website before booking through hotels.com. The room was well laid out for the size. Overall a fantastic experience and find. If we are in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate but to book here again!

Brilliant little hotel - 10/10 location!
Couldn't fault the staff - so very helpful and friendly! My boyfriend and I stayed in the 'Nest' style room, which is slightly larger than the 'Snug' room. Bed was very comfortable, no TV but we didn't miss it. I mentioned in the 'Special Requests' that we were staying for a birthday and I asked for a nice view. The view was amazing (we stayed in room 903), you could see all the way across London!! The manager asked us upon checkout whether we enjoyed the view too, so you can tell that they really care about making each stay enjoyable. The only problem that we had was that our bathroom (which was huge!) flooded a little with the shower. My boyfriend and I both had showers the morning that we checked out, and the water ran over a lot of the bathroom floor. Not too much of a problem for us as we had finished using the room, but not ideal if we were staying longer. We were more concerned about the cleaning staff that would have to mop up! Overall, we would stay in this hotel again! Location is 10/10, literally a 1 minute walk to Leicester Square Underground Station and surrounded by theatres, bars and restaurants. The price that we paid for our stay was reasonable and wifi was quick with no connection problems. There is an option to have breakfast on the roof until 10am for a surcharge but we weren't ready in time to try this! Thanks for a lovely stay overall :-)

Friendly staff and super central location!
Had a nice quick stay at the Assembly Hotel Very down to earth and directly in the center of the theater area. Extremely easy to reach everywhere via public transport. Super friendly and welcoming staff. The small room was clean and the climate control worked well. Though compact the room was exactly what I need for my stay. I was going on a job interview and the staff were so helpful and supportive. I at at the restaurant on the top of the hotel one night. The food was really good and the view beautiful. If you do not need a large room, tv or room service and will not spend a lot of time in the hotel on your trip I would would definitely recommend the hotel. And there are pink bunnies all over the hotel if you like bunnies :)
