Great weekend trip!
Great weekend getaway, perfect for a short trip! Only let down was the spa, not particularly great staff but this is a separate franchise. Hotel itself was fantastic, would definitely recommend!

The only place to stay in Galle
Absolute pleasure staying here. Staff consciously trying to go above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed- this includes recommendations on what to do in the area and also cooking items not even on the menu for my demanding wife (hope she doesn't read this)

Food could be better, very limited .Front desk training would help, they couldn’t even arrange us a taxi. Very little atmosphere in hotel. They need to tell the aggressive tuk tuk driver outside the hotel reception to back off. However rooms outstanding

It was what I expected re all the other hotels in the Galle Area, big competition and Le Grand did deliver to my expectations. The staff in general very friendly as well as good service, room service included!

Le Grande Galle is a beautiful new hotel with lovely, big rooms and wonderful views. The pool area is clean and the staff are very attentive offering drinks and water throughout the day. The breakfast buffet was great with a wonderful mix of local and western options available. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and go over and above to make you feel welcome. Good proximity to Fort Galle, only a 5 minute Tuk Tuk ride away. My only complaint with this hotel was the sound of doors closing from other rooms echoed across the whole hotel and could be quite noisy, but this small detail aside I would recommend for a stay in Galle.

This is a very new property. It is in an excellent location to tour Galle, especially the Old Fort area. The staff are extremely helpful, the two restaurants serve a good variety of food and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious, well serviced and equipped with everything you need.

The bedrooms are very nicely appointed, but need some shelf space or drawers for non hanging items. We loved the ambience everywhere, and the little rock pool by the swimming pool would be lovely for a dip if it was cleaned up. With the pollution locally this is difficult.

Amazing Hotel
I cant say enough good things about this hotel. It hasn't been open for long, but this hotel and its staff have hit the ground running. from the moment we arrived to the second we left, the staff were friendly and attentive. the facilities at the hotel were amazing, and well maintained. the wife was especially impressed by the automatic electric toilets haha. we spent 2 days and nights here while exploring local Galle, but wish we'd stayed longer. its location makes it only a 10 minute walk from the entrance to the fort, and cricket ground. we only got to try the food in one of the restaurants, but what we did have was perfect. the room was clean and extremely comfortable. so glad we got to enjoy this hotel before it gets busy and undoubtedly slightly more expensive.
