    Best hotel in Iceland
My wife and I stayed in this hotel while traveling through Iceland, and my only regret is not having booked more nights here. To start, the hotel was in an amazing location, with superb 360 degree views. When entering, I immediately was impressed by the sleek style and cleanliness. The room was very spacious, nicely decorated, had an amazing bathroom and stunning view - we were even able to see some of the Northern Lights. The owners were incredibly nice and even sat with us for a while. We learned a great deal about Iceland from them and genuinely enjoyed their company! Perhaps one of the nicest things about this hotel is the spa with a huge thermal pool; the water temperature was so nice, we spent hours swimming, even though the outside temperature was in the single digits. In the morning, we were offered a lovely (included) breakfast, which featured fresh smoothies, local delicacies, and everything else you'd want. I must also mention that I greatly enjoyed the company of their lovely Icelandic dog, who was always friendly and appreciated cuddles. Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back whenever we travel to Iceland again!

    Poor 2.0
Leftovers, bottle 7% wine and 1 beer = 220 Euro
I had researched the hotel and particularly the feedback online about the quality of food served in the restaurant and looked at the photos of some of the food served: I was impressed! When we arrived at your hotel, the owner manager made us feel very welcome which we really appreciated. He was a nice man.The room was great, clean modern and we felt relaxed after a long day. We were informed the Chef was absent and had gone across the mountain and therefore the only option for food was some leftovers to heat up. I was very surprised by this and at first thought it was a joke! We agreed as it was 8pm and tired from a lot of travelling and didn’t want to make another long drive. The host told us during the meal he had served some leftover frozen food that he had defrosted. This consisted of a carrot soup, lamb stew which was very tough and gristly and some very bland supermarket ice-cream, there was no real desert or coffee. This meal was not at all what we were expecting, especially as it was a frozen leftovers, and if we had known, we would have booked an alternative hotel. We were charged over 200 Euro for the dinner of leftovers and a bottle of wine (7%) and a beer- I was amazed. We felt ripped off. We had eaten at many Michelin restaurants and & had such a bill. Iceland is expensive, we had an amazing meal at the Blue Lagoon Lava restaurant. The hotel did refund the food bill when I complained, but did try to insult me first.

The hotel, amenities, owners, staff and the dog were wonderful. Why stay at a chain hotel and be a statistic? This hotel experience sets the bar for others to meet.

    a splendid hotel
An amazing brand new ecological hotel with a natural thermal tub in a very picturesque place run by a a really nice family of Olaf and Anna. It is only 10-15 mine drive from Selfoss. From the very 1st second you feel at home and enjoy your stay. Big and spacious rooms, with every tiny detailed designed and for your convenience. A great continental breakfast with a vast verity of fresh Icelandic ingredients was good to start our day..100% worth the money we paid for and will highly recommend the hotel to our friends…

My new wife and I had a fantastic two nights here on our honeymoon. Anna and Olafur were fantastic hosts and had the best four legged door greeter in Iceland. We loved the three course meal and our room was gorgeous. It’s not often we have a tub that big to relax in with a gorgeous view. We look forwarding to visiting again on our next Iceland vacation.

Best place we stayed in Iceland!
This was the best place we stayed in Iceland - we were in four hotels or inns overall. These were the most comfortable beds and linens we had for the whole trip. The bedding was unscented by detergents. The staff was so helpful and amazing - we learned so much about Iceland. Anna (owner) is a professional photographer and was helping guests with their northern lights photos, and taking incredible photos of us with the northern lights behind us. The views were unmatched and unobstructed, and there wasn't any nearby lights to ruin photos or views. Many thoughtful touches like a basket of toys in the lobby for guests with children. Their food was amazing and homemade - many options at breakfast. Great coffee too. Their Skyr was also the best we had in Iceland. We would definitely stay here again and we would also recommend it to friends.
