My wife and I had the most relaxing one night break we've had. The hotel is in a wonderful location and on arrival following a quick, friendly and easy check in, we sat outside by the lake relaxing with a drink watching the ducks and the lake just yards away. We ate outside and both of our meals were perfectly cooked and large portions. The owners then surprised us by bringing us a home made chocolate swan as we were celebrating our anniversary. A lovely, personal touch! Our room was a good size and although not plush, it was perfectly clean and modern and large with a lovely large wet room and as it was downstairs the door opened onto decking in front of the lake with wonderful views (as for a lake view room when booking). Breakfast was as good as any I've ever had and we followed this with a walk around the lake and grounds and helped ourselves to a couple of apples from the many trees that dotted our walk. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but did sit outside relaxing with soft drinks which they were happy to serve us at 11.15 am, whilst reading our books in front of the lake again. We'll be back to stay longer for sure and would highly recommend this little gem of a place and wish to lovely friendly owners and staff all the best at this difficult time for the hospitality industry.
Enjoyable stay at a straightforward hotel, great price. The only downside was the limited menu, which was the same on the Friday and Saturday night, but the actual food was really good, service was excellent. Given that we booked a last-minute stay in March, with the floods receeding and the coronavirus beginning to put people off travel, the hotel was practically empty so it is perfectly reasonable for them to not offer a bigger menu. I guess we were unusual in that we were not here as tourists so ate in the hotel rather than explore the area - most people probably don't do that. The pool was a good size and all the hotel was very clean. The sign for the hotel is a bit set back from the road and rather dark, so finding the hotel a night was not so easy, but all-in-all a very good stay the staff were really friendly and attentive, I would certainly stay there again without any doubt.
Still the same lovely Cadmore as when we lived near it
Perfect
A lovely friendly hotel. Exceptionally comfortable bed!
The hotel occupies a beautiful lakeside location. If you enjoy the countryside it's ideally sited as a base to explore at a reasonable cost. We arrived in the dark/rain, unfortunately the staff hadn't switched on outside lighting - disappointing to me and my now punctured knee grazed on the heavy tables/chairs forming an obstacle course in the pitch dark. Check-in was fast and friendly. Our room was larger than you find in most hotels and was very clean. Sparsely decorated it did have a slight institutional feel - explained as the hotel was apparently once a care home. All rooms have wet rooms rather than standard bathrooms - a little inconvenient as once a shower has been taken the floor is awash then making the room difficult to use for any other purpose (bring wellies). The wet room has only one very thin shelf so could be improved by the installation of shelves, storage and hooks (as you can't put anything on the wet floor). The mirror in the room is hidden behind a window blind, which was broken, explaining why we couldn't see the mirror. We only discovered it on our way out so my wife had to splash around using the wet room mirror to apply makeup - not the most convenient especially with no suitable shelving for makeup bags etc. The hotel doesn't supply shower gel/shampoo in the rooms so do bring your own (unlike us). Breakfast was good, but 5 of the 6 dishes feature duck eggs: no hens' eggs are available - interesting but not to everyone's (or my cholesterol's) taste
Friendly staff, beautiful food and amazing location.
Cadmore Lakeside Hotel is something of a hidden treasure! It's tucked away on the borders of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire and it's secluded, peaceful and the perfect place for gentle strolling in the grounds and general unwinding from the rigours of everyday life. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and helpful.
Quiet, Good bar and restaurant, good sized pool, small bathroom - didn't like the wetroom setup. Nice grounds for walking. Would visit again if in the area.
After a 13 hour day driving i turned up at the hotel wanting food and a drink however, i was then informed the bar was closed and the kitchem was closed on mondays due to staff issues therefore i had to drive once again to the nearest town in order to eat. I was not informed of this when booking otherwise i wouldnt have booked to stay here.In waking up the next morning there was no hot water and i was told this was due to a power cut in the night. Although the staff were excellent the stay itself was terrible, a hotel which doesnt serve food or drinks and has no hot water, i cetainly wont be staying again.
