Garden Street Inn

The establishment is tired and worn. The rooms are sparsely furnished and breakfast is a one-item offering. We had reservations for 5 nights and left after one night. We would never recommend this Inn.

This is a charming establishment. Room was clean and large. BUT...people staying in room above were so loud that I hardly slept. When the GM checked in and asked how my stay went, I told her about my experience and all she said was “I’m sorry”. Now I know she can hardly be held accountable for the behavior of her guests, HOWEVER, when I checked in I was clearly told no loud noises after 10. I would’ve appreciated if she had appeared to be more concerned about my experience and spoke to me about what changes could be made in the future. I did not expect an adjustment in the price of the room. What i did expect was more of a concern for my experience and better monitoring of guests’ behavior. My room was on the bottom floor. Note to others: ask for room on second floor.

What a pleasant surprise to find this place by an error but it became one of best stays! Grest breakfast service and cleanliness are one of those surprises. We'll spend night again if we have another chance!

The staff was super friendly and got me checked in early - which was an awesome bonus after driving 8 hours. I appreciated the 24 hr water/ tea station and homemade cookies in the lobby. The breakfast was made to order with fabulous egg dish and muffin. Pretty historic charm with stained glass windows. I definitely will stay there again!

cute little spot, with each room uniquely designed. old style interior everywhere. friendly staff, that provide nice treats and hearty breakfast. location is at the center of downtown San Luis Obispo, walking distance to everything.
