Very friendly staff and great breakfast - the peach French toast was incdredibly delicious! And the hotel is very central for walks to close shops and restaurants.

It was my wife's birthday, so I booked two nights (Friday and Saturday) at the Garden Street Inn, as a surprise. We absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful room that included a great breakfast each morning. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. San Luis Obispo is a great town to visit and the Garden Street Inn is downtown and close to all the sites and restaurants.

The Garden Street Inn is absolutely adorable! Such a charming, beautiful little inn with so much character, and the location is fantastic. It was the perfect place to stay in San Luis Obispo. What really made our stay, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful and made us feel so well taken care of. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The inn itself is so cute and unique — it has that cozy, historic bed-and-breakfast feel that you just don’t get from a big hotel. We loved it and would absolutely stay here again. Such a gem in SLO! ❤️

6/10 Good

This is a charming inn in an old, historic building. The rooms were small but quiet and clean. It felt very much like a hostel with private rooms/bathrooms. The included breakfast was not quite continental, it was mostly dessert items (like cream puffs, for example) and basic fruit (bananas, oranges, apples) and a hot egg item (which was delicious). There was not toast or any other traditional breakfast item.

Cute building, nice rooms, comfy bed. Liked the outdoor seating options as well as the tasty breakfast. It’s a convenient location in downtown that lets you walk everywhere. But also a bit pricey for everything you get - I chalk it up to location & convenience. Overall great stay & would consider staying again when doing things in downtown SLO.

10/10 Exceptional

Outstanding facility with comfortable and quiet rooms. Parking is inconvenient with only one loading zone spot and a few blocks’ walk to either a paid parking garage or on-street free parking if you can find a spot. Breakfast was terrific. Hosts were gracious and helpful. Location is convenient walking distance to all of downtown. Will definitely stay again.

Our experience at Garden Street Inn was exceptional. Situated downtown, it offers easy access to numerous restaurants. The included made-to-order breakfast was excellent. Other guests were quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel lacks its own parking lot, but there is a free loading/unloading zone in front, along with nearby free street parking and a pay parking garage. If parking isn't a concern, I highly recommend staying here. I wish all hotels treated their guests this well!
