The room was spacious and clean. The Wi-Fi was very good, but dropped out each day. The staff were helpful and very friendly. There were two small water bottles provided each day. However, I would suggest a water station is provided on each floor for guests to use. This would be environmentally friendly and provide guests with hydration. The climate control in the room needs better information on how to access the hot mode. The air blows on the bed with a coldness despite the fan being turned down.

Amazing Jr Suite well appointed, spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet for sleeping. The Van der Valk Amsterdam Amstel is 5 minutes walk to the Metro fantastic for touring around Amsterdam. The hotel itself is English speaking, beautifully decorated with a first floor bar and restaurant both upscale. The first floor hosts the daily breakfast which is nothing short of 5 star. Wellness Tropen is included with Steam room, Saunas, showers and heated outdoor pool not to mention the lovely lounging areas. Definitely 5*.

This place did not meet my expectations. The hotel is in a remote area and required the use of multiple trains to get there. I did not feel safe being so remote at all. Even the area around the property was desolate. Especially the train station. I ended up not leaving my hotel which made for a terrible trip. There is absolutely nothing to do in the hotel or around the hotel. They also nickeled and dimed me. I needed a rollaway bed and was charged an additional fee for a bed that was available and not being used at the time. The rooms were entirely too small and the onsite bar and restaurant left little to be desired. I would not recommend.
