Once a year, my husband and I splurge on an overnight stay at the Gaylord. Our children give us a Marriot Gift Card as a Christmas gift and we save to use it during the summer when the pool is open.
Check-in was fine - room not ready until after 4pm. But when I asked to add the gift card to the folio, I was told to wait. Ok, not a problem.
Went to the pool and tried to order food service from the Bonvoy app (have done this before) - nothing could be ordered. - bit frustrating.
Went to the spa, scheduled a last minute couples' massage for the next day - awesome!
Dinner at the Old Hickory Steakhouse - good, not great, but good.
Next day - still not able to order any food from the Bonvoy App. Tried to order room service - limited items available I was told - no fruit, no avocado toast - only egg items ( I can't eat eggs) and bakery items. Bummer - no breakfast.
Headed to the pool and had a great massage - the frustrating piece came when we went to pay for the massage.
We asked to add the charge to our room (so I could apply the gift card as I had requested) - but someone had checked us out of our room without our knowledge and now we could not charge to our room. It led to a very frustrating final experience with the spa and with the front desk.
