I stayed in the single room in the Bull and found it to be very reasonable for such a nice place in a good location. Staff friendly but not intrusive.

Poor 2.0
Never again
Absolutely awful. Noisy guests on my 2 nights so barely got any sleep which affected my experience of why I visited. Room looked very worn down, walls paper thin, kept thinking someone was coming through the ceiling. Wee on toilet seat. Grubby carpet. Coffee on cup and spoon. Didn't even use shower. Most of all just the other guests which were workmen. Noisy in the evening all of them woke me up at 5.30 each morning shouting, slamming doors. Just did not care. Will never stay again. Oh and paid £10 for a lasagne ready meal. Really got upset the first night as I had travelled a long way.

Brief stop over in Birmingham
The people at The Bull were very friendly. Whilst it looks a bit dated, it very clean and comfortable and the pub is a proper traditional one with a good selection of beers and drinks, also it has an interesting history. The location is not too bad in terms of closeness to New Street, the City Centre, Snow Hill and The Jewellery Quarter. The Bull is fantastic value for money and I would stay again.

Good 6.0
Very 'quaint' but in need of refurbishment
The two ladies who run The Bull were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. However the room was very small and in need of redecoration and a good clean. Mouldy shower tiles, not very clean toilet, not even a bedside lamp ! We stayed on a Saturday night and was told very quickly that the pub would be shutting at around 7.30pm so we would be left in the building alone ! And, as the pub did not open at all on Sunday we would not have the option of breakfast in the morning (in their advert they do offer breakfast at an extra charge). If you just want a bed for the night and you're not fussy then go for it, but if you want your money's worth then perhaps look elsewhere.

No one about at night, the heating only came on on the first night and I couldn't get the shower to work, so had to have a wash-down at the basin, but it was reasonably priced, clean, not too cold, the bed comfortable (it was room only), and the place was very convenient for the city centre and train stations. I'd come again (though please sort out the shower and the heating!)

Nice and quiet.
Nice old style pub with lots of character, pleasant staff and a pet cat. Food was nice. Quiet pub with no music etc. Chat or bring a book. Slight traffic noise in the rooms, as expected. Looking forward to to staying again.
