This Hotel is a family run business with a focus on hospitality and friendliness. The room was adequate for what we wanted but was old fashioned with a small balcony. Everything else about this hotel was exceptional, the pool area, the breakfast, the cuisine all 5 star. Then you walk out of the pool area into the very well kept gardens and the ponds. Most enjoyable stay with friendly staff, well appointed apartment for the price and great swimming pool with it's own bar, delightful cocktail barman, Rudi, (check out his Sangria!) and poolside dining facilities. Also the main restaurant, Bobby Jones Grill and Bar was first class where the decking outside overlooks the golf course set in beautiful umbrella pines. Late afternoon 'happy hour' is a must! Amazing resort with even better staff, made me and my wife feel extremely well looked after. Receptionist able to deal with any requests and always with a smile no problem to big or small for the VDL staff. The resort it's self is beautiful with only a short walk to the beach where an abundance of fabulous restaurants and the resorts pool facilities. The hotel was comfortable, clean and bright. It's main 'attraction' for me was not the waterpark, (which is included in the price and is excellent), but it's staff. They rescued us by sending my daughter's mobile phone in a taxi, to the airport when we realised two hours before departure that she had unfortunately left it in the room! Food at the hotel was reasonable and there were local restaurants a short stroll away from the hotel. Two drawbacks are that there is no free wifi in the rooms...

Very high standard of service. Simple but high quality rooms with extremely comfortable 5 star standard beds, pillows and sheets. The restaurant is surprisingly good and they cater for gluten intolerances. You can use the beach shuttle from the Hilton across the road to the gorgeous Falesia beach with beach club. As a single traveller I felt very welcome here and liked the quiet pool area. Reception staff are charming and helpful. Very good value and well located hotel.

Hotel was lovely and clean, breakfast was delicious (including: pancakes, fruit, full English, breads, pastries, hot drinks and juices). Hotel was practically on the beach. The loungers on the beach weren’t free which was a little disappointing considering the price. The beach was beautiful, nice sand and a little rocky in parts. Locals were lovely, much quieter than Vilamoura as the area was more a native Portuguese holiday area. Amazing holiday- would return!!!

A fantastic and spotlessly clean hotel. We stayed here for a week at the start of March. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, which meant the rooftop bar and pool area was closed for the first couple of days. Despite the weather, Olhao is a lovely little town with enough bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. We last stayed at Hotel Monaco 16 years ago. It hasn't changed much, but its been refreshed. We stayed for one night as its really close to the airport and convenient if you have a morning flight but dont want to get up early from your main location. Really easy to find and plenty of parking outside. Lovely rooms and the bar serves quite good food at reasonable prices.
