The cat’s out of the bag! Hotels.com has launched the search for a team of Creature Critics to review the best Loved by Guests, award-winning pet-friendly hotels out there. With pet travel on the rise, there has never been a greater need to have fluffy felines and cute canines compile a list of ‘pedigree’, pet-friendly hotels.


If you have a doggie diva, a bad-ass bunny or even a travel-tastic toad, enter them to be part of the Creature Critic crack-team, for a suite, suite time. Not only will they be part of the best ‘pack’ in town, but they (and you) will win 10 x $150 coupons to use for stays at the best pet-friendly hotels around the globe.

Terms and conditions for the Creature Critic Prize Draw (the "Prize Draw")

When entering the Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (these "Terms and Conditions"). Promotional materials relating to the Prize Draw, including all information on how to enter the Prize Draw, also form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between any terms referred to in such promotion materials and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions take precedence.

  1. The promoter of this Prize Draw is Hotels.com, a Texas limited partnership having its registered office at 5400 LBJ Freeway, Suite 500, Dallas, TX 75240, USA ("Hotels.com").

  2. Participants must be at least 18 years old and legally resident within the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, USA, Canada (excluding Quebec), Japan, Korea, and Taiwan and have an Instagram and/or Twitter account. Employees and agents of Hotels.com or any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies and their immediate families and members of their households, and anyone otherwise connected with operation or fulfilment of the Prize Draw are not eligible to take part. Hotels.com reserves the right to require participants to prove that they are eligible to enter the Prize Draw. If the winner is found to be ineligible, Hotels.com reserves the right to award the prize to another participant and to require the return of any prize already awarded.

  3. The Prize Draw commences at 00.00am UK time on Wednesday 30th September 2020 (01:00 Central European Summer Time, 18.00 Central Time USA on Tuesday 29th September 2020, 08.00 Japan and Korea time on Thursday 1st October, 07.00 Taiwan time on Thursday 1st October and all entries must be received by 23.59pm UK time on the closing date of Friday 9th October 2020.

  4. @hotelsdotcomJP on Twitter or @hotelsdotcom or @Bellpug_no_tabi on Instagram or @hotels.comKR or @hotels.comTW on Facebook. To enter on Twitter, they must upload a picture or text showing why their pet should be one of the Creature Critics (via text or image they do not have to do both), tag @hotelsdotcom / @hotelsdotcomUK / @hotelsdotcomJP, follow the account they have tagged and use the hashtag #CreatureCritics/#チームアニマル評論家 in the caption. To enter on Instagram, they must upload a grid post on their personal account, sharing why their pet should be one of the Creature Critics, follow @hotelsdotcom or @Bellpug_no_tabi, tag us in the caption and use the hashtag #CreatureCritics/#チームアニマル評論家. To enter on Facebook on @hotelsdotcomKR or @hotelsdotcomTW, they must comment below the Creature Critic post with a picture of their pet and description of why they should win, follow the page they have entered on and use the #펫호텔리뷰단/#動物新星點讚隊

  5. The Prize Draw will be promoted on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook at the following URL addresses: https://www.instagram.com/hotelsdotcom/ or https://twitter.com/hotelsdotcomuk or https://twitter.com/hotelsdotcom or https://twitter.com/hotelsdotcomJP or https://www.instagram.com/bellpug_no_tabi/ or https://www.facebook.com/hotels.comKR or https://www.facebook.com/hotels.comTW. Use of script, macro or any automated system to enter the Prize Draw is prohibited and entries made (or which appear to have been made) using any such system may be treated as void. Any illegible, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected. Participants can enter as many times as they like but there are only three prizes to be won by three separate winners (each winner can only win one prize) legally resident in one of the jurisdictions outlined in clause 2 above.

  6. There are three prizes to be won for three separate winners. Each prize has 10 separate hotel vouchers each worth up to $150 (for residents of the US) €127 (for residents of the EU) / £114 (for residents of the UK) / $198 CAD (for residents of Canada) / 1,349 NOK (for residents of Norway) / 946 DK (for residents of Denmark) / 1,317 SK (for residents of Sweden) / 15,885 JY (for residents of Japan) / 178,399 SKW (for residents of Korea) / 4,406 NTD (for residents of Taiwan) (the vouchers will have a total value of up to $1,500/€1,270/£1,140/$1,980 CAD/13,490 NOK/9,460 DK/13,170 SK/11,620 JY/1783,990 SKW/11,620 HKD/158,850 JY/1783,990 SKW/44,060 NTD) for the winner to redeem against the cost of a one night stay in 10 separate pet friendly hotels of the winner's choosing from any of the eligible pet friendly hotels listed on the Hotels.com website. If the cost of the hotel exceeds the value of the prize, then the winner is liable to pay for the remainder of the balance, and if the cost of the hotel is less than the value of the prize, the winner shall not receive any credit in respect of the difference. The winner will be provided with 10 voucher codes to be redeemed within 12 months of the date of issue by entering the code at the checkout on the Hotels.com website. Stays booked using the voucher codes will not contribute towards any Reward Night offered by Hotels.com. The prize cannot be applied to the cost of any previously purchased reservations, local taxes or other miscellaneous charges. The winner is responsible for paying all associated costs that are not specifically stated in these Terms and Conditions, including (where applicable) transport to and from departure airport, the outstanding cost of the accommodation once the prize has been redeemed, meal costs, spending money, insurance (including pet insurance), and all other incidentals. The winner and anyone accompanying them are responsible for obtaining valid passports (including veterinary health certificates and pet passports) and visas and, where appropriate, obtaining appropriate vaccinations (including pet vaccinations) and inoculations for foreign travel and microchipping of your pet. The winner is responsible for checking government travel advice prior to booking and complying with any travel restrictions. The winner is also personally responsible for any personal or incidental expenses and any VAT, national and/or local tax liabilities incurred in claiming or using the prize. If any minor is accompanying the winner, then that minor must be accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian (at their own expense) if they are not the winner. The prize is as stated and is non-exchangeable and non-transferable. The voucher codes awarded are personal to the winner, and publication or selling of the voucher codes is prohibited. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize in whole or in part. By participating in the Prize Draw, participants agree that the prize is awarded on an "as is" basis, and that neither Hotels.com nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies, make any representations or warranties of any nature with respect to the prize.   7. The winner of the Prize Draw will be the first name chosen at random from all complete, eligible, properly submitted entries received before the end of the applicable closing date.

  8. The winner will be notified no later than Saturday 7th November 2020 by via private message from the Hotels.com Instagram account (@hotelsdotcom or @Bellpug_no_tabi) to the Instagram platform account used to enter the Prize Draw or via private message from the Hotels.com Twitter account (@hotelsdotcom or @hotelsdotcomUK or @hotelsdotcomJP) or via private message from the Hotels.com Facebook account (@hotels.comKR or @hotels.comTW). Hotels.com will obtain the winner's email address in order to email the winner their prize. The winner may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize. The prize will be sent in the form of 10 separate voucher codes sent to the winner by email from Hotels.com within 14 days of the winner accepting the prize. If any e-mails or social media messages to the winner are returned as undeliverable or the winner does not respond to the direct message on Instagram or Twitter within 48 hours we will select another winner. If the winner is a Canadian resident, he/she must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question in order to win the prize.

    If a potential Prize winner: (a) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question; (b) fails to return the properly executed Prize Draw documents within the specified time; (c) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) the Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (d) is determined to be in violation of these Terms and Conditions (all as determined by the Promoter in its sole and absolute discretion); then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Promoter, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the Prize) and the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible Entries submitted and received during the Entry Period (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected potential Prize winner) on November 10, 2020. Such newly selected potential winner will be notified by email within two (2) business days of the drawing, using the same method as described above. Only three (3) alternate entrants will be contacted. Except where prohibited, a potential winner may be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release. Unclaimed prizes may not be awarded.

  9. In the event that, for reasons beyond Hotels.com's reasonable control and not related to the winner, Hotels.com is unable to award the prize as described in these Terms and Conditions, Hotels.com reserves the right to award a prize of a similar nature and an equivalent value.

  10. By entering the Prize Draw, participants agree to have their name and photograph as the winner available on the Website, Facebook, Instagram or on Twitter between September 2020 and September 2021. Details of the winner will also be made available to participants and the public on request by sending a direct message to the Hotels.com Instagram account no later than Monday 30th November 2020.

  11. Although the Prize Draw may be featured on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, the Prize Draw is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and you agree that Instagram, Facebook and Twitter are not liable in any way. You are providing information to Hotels.com and not to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The information you provide will only be used for the purposes referred to in clause 13 below.

  12. Hotels.com will collect, store and otherwise process participants' personal information as part of the Prize Draw in accordance with our privacy policy posted on the Hotels.com website (see https://www.hotels.com/hotel-deals/privacy/) and will share such information with Hotels.com's agents and affiliates (including those outside the European Economic Area) to the extent necessary in order to conduct the Prize Draw including for the prize to be delivered to the winner.  If participants do not provide any of the mandatory information requested when entering and taking part in the Prize Draw, they may not take part in the Prize Draw.

  13. Hotels.com reserves the right to reasonably modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Prize Draw in whole or in part, at any time considering the reasonable interest of all parties, if it believes the Prize Draw is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Terms and Conditions or in the event of a virus, a computer bug or unauthorized human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the reasonable control of Hotels.com that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Prize Draw. Neither Hotels.com nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies are responsible for any condition, circumstances, losses, failures or delays caused by events beyond its or their control.

  14. Save where it has been negligent, Hotels.com will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury resulting from participants' entry into the Prize Draw or their acceptance and/or use of the prize, or for technical, hardware or software failures, lost, faulty or unavailable network connections or difficulties of any kind that may limit or prohibit their ability to participate in the Prize Draw. Save where it has been negligent, Hotels.com will not be responsible for any lost, damaged, defaced, incomplete, illegible or otherwise unreadable entries. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt by Hotels.com of any entries. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall in any way limit Hotels.com's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for intent.

  15. Any participant who enters or attempts to enter the Prize Draw in a manner, which in a reasonable determination is contrary to these Terms and Conditions or by its nature is unjust to other entrants (including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Prize Draw, cheating, hacking, deception or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Hotels.com and/or any of its agents or representatives) may be rejected from the Prize Draw at Hotels.com's sole discretion. Furthermore, where such actions have significantly impaired the Prize Draw, Hotels.com may, at its sole discretion, add further stages to the Prize Draw as it deems reasonably necessary in order to resolve any problems arising as a result of such actions.

  16. All Hotels.com's decisions in relation to the Prize Draw are final and Hotels.com will not enter into any correspondence with participants.

  17. For residents of the UK, these Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. However, if you are resident in France, Spain, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark you will benefit from mandatory consumer provisions of, and legal rights available to you under the laws of that country. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your rights to rely on those local law mandatory consumer provisions and legal rights.

  18. For residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Texas, USA. The courts of Dallas, TX shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the Prize Draw or these Terms and Conditions. Participants agree that any dispute or claim shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.
