This place is a HUGE hidden gem!
From start to finish, the service, staff, spa, value for money, everything was fantastic! We have stayed in many many hotels in the UK and this hotel has to be our favourite. The secret garden spa for an extra £25pp is worth every penny!
We stayed in Tiplady 4 and it was perfect sitting outside as it was south facing so ordered a bottle of wine and nibbles before going to Nu Sana for an evening meal.

Our stay at Walworth Castle Hotel was truly memorable, not just because of the stunning setting, but thanks to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Adrian, part of the breakfast team at the 1189 Kitchen & Bar, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we started each morning with a smile. The service was excellent, and his warm demeanor really stood out.
A special thank you to Mary at reception, who took the time—despite it being a busy period—to personally show...

Great location as we were attending an event at the rugby club over the road. We booked room only, which was very good overlooking the main entrance, as were the staff. Only downside was the noisy disco from a function room below us, although it finished at 12.30am.

Excellent one night stay over. Very friendly check in and sorted my couple of issues out immediately.
Food was absolutely incredible. Even more so when the cost of 2 courses was just £23. Lamb and mint gravy with the Shepherd's Pie was amazing. Will certainly stay again.

First off, Sue (the owner) is just the best! I phoned in advance and asked a couple of favours of her, to put a couple of gifts in the room to surprise my girlfriend. Not only did she do it but she did it for less than budget! (If you do ask something of her like this, it's only fair to reward the wonderful lady with a gift of her own. OK?! Haha!)
Newsham Grange is gorgeous. We had a fantastic overnight stay and wow that breakfast is good.

The staff were exceptional and the food abundant well prepared and reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable. THe room would have benefited from a chair in the room and my room (pretender) needs privacy film or a net curtain as there are tables directly outside which can see into the room. Orherwise and despite this the stay was exceptional and highly recommended

We have spent many short visits to Middleton over the past few years - this was our first stay at Brunswick House. What a delight. The reviews knocking the driveway in to park and rooms not overlarge can safely be ignored. As a couple we had twin beds, room 1 at the rear. Not large but perfectly formed with everything we needed plus an en-suite with a great shower. All spotlessly clean. A 'fridge' with 'proper' milk,2 small bottles of water plus a small fruit bowl and biscuits. The breakfast was...

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Darlington
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Darlington is between January and March, when hotel prices are typically lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 2 days is recommended to fully appreciate the town's key historical landmarks and cultural attractions. During this time, visitors can explore the rich heritage of Darlington, including its fascinating museums and beautiful natural sites, all while enjoying great value for money. Prices for accommodation may drop during these months, making it an ideal opportunity for an enriching getaway.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals for hotels in Darlington, visit the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Dealsopens in new window sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don’t miss any opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shoppingopens in new window tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you’re more likely to be notified of any price drops or room availability for your preferred hotels, making it easier to book a spontaneous getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a better deal for your stay in a Darlington hotel. For those seeking something a bit different, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and may offer greater value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we might suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in your search for a favourable rate.
Consider your location: Staying in the city centre of major towns like Darlington certainly offers the advantage of convenience, as you're in close proximity to local attractions and amenities. However, this convenience often comes with a heftier price tag. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas are more likely to be affordable, allowing travellers to stretch their budgets further. For those seeking better rates, it may be worth considering accommodation just outside the city centre, although this could mean additional travel time to reach popular sites. Alternatively, exploring nearby cities can also be a rewarding option, presenting a wealth of experiences while often providing more budget-friendly choices.
