This is a unique and characteristic hotel with lots of history and amazing architecture. The scenery, gardens and the estate overall are simply gorgeous. The spa and the outdoor pool area is also very nice especially in good weather (it may be difficult to find a lounger when it is sunny though). The room I stayed in was nicely decorated with wood panellings and period furnitures; bed was very comfortable as well. However, if you love modern luxury, you may be disappointed with the rooms since...

Gorgeously inviting and comfortable hotel after a lengthy drive to get there. Rooms are large and well decorated with super comfy beds and facilities. I especially liked the tempting hamper of treats. If I wasn't so tired I'd have definitely had the lot. Breakfast was very nice and well received too.
