Was curious about Andy Murray's investment in a country hotel. But as I drove up the private road you could see why. It's a lovely secluded residence. It was a relatively quiet night I stayed at with maybe 33-50% occupancy, and I was given a nice upgrade. The fixtures and fittings were extremely high tier, mixed with antique/period pieces. Among other things I had a lovely writing desk looking out to the grounds which would no doubt be a lovely and inspirational place to pen some thoughts or a...

Firstly, the hotel is very good and the staff are friendly. The biggest down side is the Spa, which doesn't quite live up to the 5 star experience. The Spa is clean, and its staff are friendly and knowledgable, however, the change rooms are tiny and the pool lacks atmosphere.

The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was spacious and well furnished. The shower was user friendly but took a little while to run hot. The meals were superb. It would have been a little difficult for an elderly person to have walked into the town and back as the hotel was located up a fairly steep hill, otherwise there there were no drawbacks and it's relative isolation from the town meant it was in a very quiet location. All in all an excellent experience.

Lovely small hotel with parking. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable. Staff very helpful and allowed us to check in early as we were going to a wedding and wouldn’t be available during the dedicated check in times. Breakfast fresh and delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Maintaining the heritage of the building, this hotel brings absolutely first-class modern food with a bias towards Scottish produce(venison, salmon, etc.)
Our greeting on arrival set the tone of professionalism, friendliness and competence displayed by every staff member. To this great start was added a charming room in the main building overlooking the River Tay. There can be few views from a hotel bedroom nicer than this one
Dining at Ballathie is genuinely an unforgettable experience....

Very good indeed once you realise that you have to do a large detour around the adjacent pub to get in. The presence of a portable fan in the room and the fact that you can't open the window more than a tiny bit may indicate that it could get unbearably hot in the summer. Weather was cold and wet during my stay.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel overall. Bedroom, front enterance etc. Good variety of continental breakfast and cooked breakfast. The front grass were the group of tables are could do with a cut and one of the wooden small tables need checking as it tipped forward and our drinks fell on the grass. But, was nothing to faukt the hotel but front garden needs some attention
