Recomendable
Poco confiable. Aparte, fue una buena estadía. Excelente localización.

We learned that the hotel had once been a convent, converted now into a hotel. The rooms were on three floors surrounding a courtyard that was divided into a sitting/eating area with tables and chairs, and a swimming pool that was separated by a wall to the eating area. Staff kept the floors clean every day and at times several times a day, as well as dusted. Staff at the desk were very helpful in giving us information and ordering a cab when we needed to leave and get to the airport. It all felt very safe and secure. Many of the staff were bilingual, especially those at the desk and restaurant. The food at the restaurant was very good, though we ate out most of the time to experience the gastronomy of the city of Oaxaca. And the hotel was situated right in the old town area, known as Oaxaca Centro. Would definitely stay there again if I travel back to that city.

Be aware of extra charges not disclosed in the webpage nor the confirmation. e.g. extra bed, pets with no vaccinations proof, etc. might be pet friendly but not budget friendly.

The kindness of the staff, and the chef who can make a great filet mignon, are especially memorable. Remember to tip housekeeping because they depend on you. It is in a very safe area, close to what you need and want. The pool is small, but nice. I loved this hotel for a true Oaxacan experience in a cozy environment.

Noisy Cloister CasAntica
The hotel is central and our room/suite was spacious however the bathroom room was very small and the shower sprayed in every direction.
The worst however was the noise. We had the misfortune to stay over a long weekend and the hotel transformed from nice and tranquil into a gathering point of screaming kids and screaming, drunken adults and blearing boom boxes. Everyone seemed to try to be louder than the other. They all gathered around the pool which is in the middle of the central courtyard surrounded by all the rooms.
This went on until way into the night on several days.
The staff, doesn’t speak English and didn’t seem to care.
The courtyard is a nice, quiet place to have breakfast, dinner there is not recommended.

We stayed here for 6 days. Staff was friendly. This hotel is in an excellent location. Walking distance to the Zocalo and to downtown maybe 2 blocks away. The room was very nice, keep in mind it’s an older building but very beautiful. They do have a pool and the restaurant in the hotel had very good breakfast. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because we did not have hot water in our room, not that we needed it much because in the day time since it was hot outside the water was warm but not hot. That’s the only thing that I didn’t enjoy. Other than that I recommend and would definitely stay here again (with hot water). :) by the way Oaxaca is beautiful.

Great place
We loved the location of this cute boutique hotel. We also loved being able to plunge in the pool to cool off after a hot day of walking. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us call another hotel to communicate for us. During our stay they had a beautiful display of artwork on the walls. Nothing negative to note.

Our stay at Casantica was nice we enjoying the view of the place its antique and peaceful. Great location and staff service. The only bad thing was the water. No hot water when shower but other than that will definitely recommend
