Go from modern to traditional and head out to the Batu Caves, a stunning temple complex within hollowed-out limescale caves. 

    Kuala Lumpur is very walkable, and we recommend visiting Jalan Alor, the main street food market, and strolling through the air-conditioned old market. Look for hotels in the centre to take full advantage of the city, such as the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, which also has a pool and spa.
