This property is a gorgeous, formerly privately owned mansion that's been converted into a hotel. Breakfast is served in the former parlor and dining rooms. We stayed in room #2 and it was extremely spacious and had the only balcony on that side of the hotel. Windows are original and you can open them to enjoy cooler air. Room was noisy from traffic with the windows open, but it was pretty quiet with windows closed. Hotel itself was extremely quiet. While we saw a few guests in the early evening, we never heard them once we were in our room. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Bucket of ice on request for some wine we had purchased came quickly. We had a lot of luggage and they came out to where we had temporarily parked on the street to help carry it up. Service is definitely 5-star at this hotel. We all agreed that we would stay here again. Shower was great and this hotel offered extra amenities like robes and toothbrushes, along with standard shampoo. A couple minor cons: 1) there's no parking associated with the hotel. There is street parking, but that can be tough to find. 2) You need to go up about 6-7 steps to get into the hotel, which is a pain if you have luggage, but if you walk into the lobby and ask they will quickly come out and take care of carrying the bags for you, so you can avoid this issue altogether. 3) breakfast starts at 8:30am, which is late if you need to catch a flight or meet up with a tour

The staff go beyond what is expected. The place is very intimate so your needs are met in a timely manner. I’m pregnant at the moment; I needed/craved a dose of fresh fruit late at night. I went downstairs to ask for a cup of ice and fruit I can purchase, I was given more than I asked and was not charged. I needed a pain reliever and Katarina told me about Glovo. My only issue was the level of noise at night. Perhaps the hotel can alleviate outside noise by installing soundproof windows. Even though the ceilings were high, I was woken up by heavy footsteps of the room above us. Thankfully it didn’t last long. Not the hotel’s fault of how the person upstairs carried him/herself, but maybe install more cushion on the floor. We love the breakfast atmosphere and the food. Eggs are cooked fresh. We were greeted by smiling Ines each morning we came down. We love the little present they had for my babe. They put up a roll away bed for her even when we said it was fine to have her on our bed. That to us was going beyond what is expected of them. Once we returned to the hotel after a long day, we were also greeted by Katarina and were asked how our day was. It was a nice touch. We would definitely come back and recommend this hotel. Thank you, Valmor Palace, for having us and making our Lisbon experience unforgettable.

This is a historic property that has been fully refurbished. Large rooms with high ceilings, top quality new finishes mixed with antique/vintage furnishings. Gorgeous bathrooms. Superb linens. Small # of rooms and guests meant very personal service from professional staff. Delicious breakfast. They were doing a small amount of construction and sent a courteous letter advising of time of work (daytime) but we experienced no impact as we were out and about exploring the city. This is in central Lisbon but "newer" business area an a major street so easily accessible by taxi as well as being just a couple blocks from metro station so very convenient to visit the entire city. That said the neighborhood itself does not have quite the amount of character as Barrio or Chiado but also feels less "tourist".

Not a 4 or 5 star hotel by any stretch
This hotel lacks in the basics. The owner is only concerned with the aesthetics of the hotel and not the functionality. In the bathroom in Room 5 you must put your toiletries on the floor in the shower. There is no shelf or stand to put things on. This was brought up to the staff and was told that they are making a marble stand. A simple fix was suggested of placing as plastic stand/table in the shower but this was not acceptable with the 27 year old owner. There are only eight rooms currently at this facility. Room 2 and 5 are huge and the staff likes to say you are there, like home. No tissue paper and trash cans that are unbelievably small. The room safe is not even bolted to anything. If you wanted to carry off the safe you could. I am sure that my “home” would have these basics addressed. These issues were in fact addressed with the staff but nothing was done about any of it. I for one want functionality over looks. If it is functional and ultra-clean then it is good for me. This facility is definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel.

Best hotel ever!
Best hotel service we ever experience! The staff were all super friendly and gave us so many tips on where to go, what to see and what to do. Real good people knowledge. The rooms were amazing and so was the breakfast, everything is done with care, quality and love. I wish we had more then 1 night here and will love to come back. What a place! And not to mention the design of the place, it was a privilige to stay here. Everything was just amazing! There were some nice places around here and good with an easy metro ride so you can reach most of Lissabon in no time.
