Privileged Room was NOT Privileged
Had requested a balcony room with castle view, paid for an upgraded PRIVILEGED room, was given a TINY room and could only see castle through a dingy window that only opened 2 inches. On 3rd night was able to pay ANOTHER upgrade fee to get a Superior Room with balcony. Stayed here several times before and had balcony in the privileged room. The rooms pictured on website under privileged show balconies and were certainly not the TINY room I was given on the 2nd floor. Completely disappointed on this stay.

Very good 8.0
Bedroom was good but far too hot during the night. Bathroom was a bit dusty and shower dripped all night. Staff were very welcoming.

Fair 4.0
Recently refurbished public areas are lovely, rooms are dated and in need of an update

Exceptional 10.0
Pleasant and convenient. Close to LNER—which and all the major attractions, which is why I selected it.

City centre hotel
Ideal location in city centre. Only criticism is that it is not very disabled friendly. Entering and getting to 1st floor reception quite awkward. Handy for Airport bus, just across the road, which made our onward journey easier.
