In their system they saw my double booking through hotels.com as a single booking through Expedia !!! It took me time convincing them that I was right. Nobody speaks English. All inclusive booking with three meals, but they make you pay 3,5 EUR for drinking water at lunch and dinner. Ridiculous. Never again

As far as the staff and facilities the hotel was very good for the price, but the location is amazing. I only stayed for one night, which was enough to explore the tiny island, but it was great. Beautiful views walking all around the island during the day and then float in the pool and watch the sunset over the ocean. Excellent buffet breakfast was included as well. Definitely worth at least one night if you're in Sao Tome. Given the resort boat is the only access, kind of feel that should be included in the room price, not an additional charge.

It was our second visit in Sao Tomé and we decided to spend most of our stay at this resort. We should have booked a longer stay. Very remote; perfect for a relaxing vacation. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wishes to escape to a unique place on earth! Touring the island was very nice. We were very few guests at the hotel at this time of the year. Buffet at the restaurant was very delicious but a bit expensive. The snack-back offers a nice variety of foods for cheaper. Breakfast buffet was very nice, with an amazing view. The staff, was very nice overall. We could manage to communicate with a mix of English, French or Spanish and very little Portuguese.

It exceeded my expectations... The cottages are lovely and cozy and clean! I wish I had a hammock with me! The beach Praia Cafe which is a walk from the main hotel beach area was breathtaking and empty! The staff is very friendly. English speakers are maybe 1-2 person and they are still limited. Oddly enough, WiFi was more consistent than mainland. Pay ahead of time for your hotel stay so you don’t have to worry about a large payment. WiFi for credit cards was not working when I checked out but they used the sister hotel Pestano SaoTome to process payment. Dobra or Euro only used for small souvenirs. Bottled water is not included with meals. Overall, excellent experience. I would return!

I work in Ghana and had been hearing about how easy it was to get to Sao Tome. It was just that easy. I was a little surprised with the airport. Only thing I would suggest is a better connection between leaving Pestana Eucador and getting to the airport. A little too much delay.

It's a beautiful hotel and I have stayed there twice, but they nickel and dime you for everything and I wouldn't call it eco-friendly. The hotel is located on a small island south of the main island. It's beautiful, the diving is good and they have great scuba equipment. However, they charge you $28 Euros to get to and from the island. If your hotel is located on an island the boat ride should be included in your stay. Also, a bottle of water is over $5 and a huge waste of plastic. If a hotel is going to claim to be eco-friendly they should have water stations to fill up water bottles for a small fee. You have to keep hydrated because it's so hot out and I was spending up to $20 a day on water.

They first issued us an inferior room to the one booked through Expedia. Then they moved us to the right room, but bedroom fan did not work, sink was clogged, and toilet broke and took 3 reports over 4 hours to get them to fix. Food service is typically slow, but not terrible. One day, food service took over 1.5 hours, most other customers who came after us were served before us, and they got my order wrong 3 times, even with Portuguese speaking customers translating for us. The manager brought out the right order finally and only said sorry - not willing to comp the meal or accommodate us in any way. Don't go expecting to get by only on English. You must speak Portuguese, Spanish or French for any chance to communicate and be understood. Some of the lovely and friendly serving staff even told us the hotel was not a 4 star hotel - it was 2 star at best. Buffet meals always started later than scheduled. You could feel the springs through the mattresses so you could not sleep well at night. The island is fun to explore, water is warm, beaches are nice and clean. Diving is not world class; some of the literature it claims that the place is a marine reserve, but marine life was limited. Coral were mostly dead and there were few large fish. If you haven't been spoiled diving the Indo-Pacific, you will like it. Also, the dive shop owner is amazing. He and his staff are very accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately, the guides were touching marine life, but the owner stopped this.

Plenty of activities to do or lounge chairs and spa treatments if you wish to relax. Lovely location. Great food - I recommend eating all the jack fruit or "jica" you can!!
