    No hot water.

Everything was great except the hot water for the bath was only hot for 30 seconds (literally) so we had to take cold showers. Not fun in February.

I don’t know how fair it is to leave a review b/c of COVID restrictions and everything going on. This was a fun place to stay and would definitely recommend as a place that gives you a way more fun, hipster New Orleans style, place to stay.

    ok stay

I don't really know if it can be categorized as hotel at this time. Maybe a guest house instead? There were no employees on site before 8am & after 5pm. No housekeeping due to covid at the time of our stay. A few days before the stay, I received an email asking for my estimated time of arrival. I replied with my estimated arrival time. On the day we were to check in, the manager called three times asking when we would be getting there. As we were driving in heavy traffic, something we had no control of. Finally arrived (a few minutes prior to the 7pm "late" check-in time) & was given two keys. One to the room & one to the mansion front door. Why do I know that no staff is on the property after hours? I was called by the manager to let another guest inside that had left their mansion key in the room. We were in the Vampire Lovers Lair room. Every review site stated that this room had two beds, a King Size bed and a twin bed. Not so, only a King Size Bed. The description of this room has been switched with the Vampire Fairytale room The heater worked very well in the room but there was no heat in the bathroom. Supposedly, this is the most haunted room of the mansion. I, personally did not have ghost experience but my traveling companion's CPAP machine hose came undone several times the first night. She said that never happens at home so we attributed it to someone playing tricks. Did not happen the first night. Overall the property is very beautiful.

Our stay was fantastic! We were upgraded for free and were absolutely in love with our room and experience. It is so historic yet not spooky. It was just like traveling back in time. It is in a great location! Four blocks from Sandra Bullock, great stroll to the French Quarters, lots of food around the corner. Will be coming back!

Magnolia Mansion was better than my best expectation. The house is as exquisite inside as it is outside. The Loius XV furniture fits with the Frech experience of visiting the city. It is only one block from St. Charles, and it worth walking to the French Quarter. Despite being an old mansion, services work like in a modern building. Even it was affordable for someone like me, things are delicate, and nothing is cheap inside. If the reader wants to visit The Confederacy of Dunces sites, they are within walking distance, including Constantinople St. with Prytania St.

It was my first trip to New Orleans. I booked this hotel from the expedia. The picture of the room captivated me. I wanted to have a unique experience. This place was perfect for that. The hotel is so historical filled with magnificent gorgeous antique furnitures. I felt like I went back in time. Time travel! I stayed in the Gone with wind room and it was gorgeous. It was a precious experience. I always stayed corporate hotels for travel, but why would I do that in New Orleans?! Sure the floor may squeak a little, sure I may not have enough plugs for my tech gadgets, but to feel and experience this historical place, it was worth it. The location of the Hotel is in the second richest area in New Orleans. Surrounded by beautiful homes. There were many good breakfast places near by. I had southern style breakfast at the ruby. It was delicious. And it only takes 13 minutes to French Quarter. You can still have a party at the French Quarter and have a nice quiet and peaceful morning at the Magnolia Mansion. It seemed like under new Management, the owner and the new manager were so nice and friendly and welcoming, talk about southern hospitality. I was impressed. He was planning to repair the many parts of the hotel from the recent hurricane. I can’t imagine how hard to maintain the hotel from such a tragedy. You never know when the mother earth is going to kick you in a butt and with Covid19! I hope they can restore and preserve the Hotel because this place is so special.

    very elegant guesthouse

I had a great short stay.warm welcome.Laura saw to it I had tv and movies to watch before she left. This is a guesthouse, not a hotel or bnb. No staff on duty at night no luggage hold only coffee in the am but rooms and public areas are elegantly furnished in antiques and art and the verandah is magnificent.had to take a tepid bath in my lovely slipper tub. They need to fix the hot water but for the independant traveler this is a memorable stay.Had to jiggle the keys a bit to get in outer doors but they do work. If you keep in mind this is not a full service hotel just kick back and enjoy the lovely surroundings. I felt like the queen of the castle!!!
