11 Jun 2026Lovely clean modern room in the separate and brand new mews building as that's where the dog friendly rooms are. Beautifully kept grounds. Only fault - no outside litter bins, which you need with a dog. Staff were great. Food was, surprisingly, given the high standard of everything else, a little disappointing.

But was still nice to have,
bed large and comfortable. Walk in shower was good size.

1 Jun 2026Overall a fantastic experience with exceptional customer service and facilities. The only negative is that there are no maintenance staff on during the weekend which resulted in us having to change rooms for a very minor quickly fixed fault and then in the new room was also a minor fault which could have been quickly fixed in 30 seconds had there been maintenance staff available. Food and service was exceptional.

21 Aug 2026The hotel is very nice looking, some might say “over the top” but we did not mind that. The bedrooms are very nice, spacious and well appointed. This hotel is supposed to be 5* and from its decoration and furnishings I can see where that rating comes from. However, the breakfast is very poor. Lack of choice and not great quality and everything is buffet and serve yourself. We were also very surprised to find no restaurant in the hotel except for Pizza (we stayed Weds and Thurs night). We had one other issue on arrival which was we were given a different room from that which we had booked. They did correct this but only because we expressed how unhappy we were. At £200 per night you would expect have a restaurant and not have to go to the pub, a 5/10 min walk away and hope they have a table available. You should also expect a good breakfast, freshly cooked to order and served. As nice as the room was, because of these factors we would not return.

Granted it was the 34C days we had but the Mews building didn't have Aircon, nor a fan in the room (I needed to ask for one).
The food really wasn't great, despite the place generally looking really upmarket . Burger at the on-site restaurant was soggy and bland, and then breakfast in the main building didn't really have much in the way of flavour or quality (e.g the pastries seemed just to be grocery ones out of a bag - dry ), sausages tasted like cardboard. Was expecting much better seeing as it was a £20/25 addition !
Nice grounds and peaceful (as it was so quiet ), but don't think I'll be back .
