19 Aug 2026A beautiful building with incredible woodwork. The bedroom is cute with a comfortable bed, The bathroom for the Jane Austen room is outside of the bedroom. There is no tub and the shower stall is very narrow and need to be mindful of the shower knob as to not hit it with your elbow or back into it. Breakfast was amazing! The staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again over a noisy hotel/motel.

The breakfast was delicious and Lois was so hospitable and welcoming. Our family had a beautiful stay and we would absolutely return if we are back in the area.

15 Jun 2026This is a wonderful, remarkable inn/bed 'n breakfast! Everywhere you look there's beautiful woodwork and glasswork. The staff is very hard working and the breakfasts they create and serve on weekends (only) are generous and delicious. The next time we visit, Amy said I could come to the kitchen to watch how she makes the best, moistest and fluffiest scrambled eggs I've ever had! The place is a wonder... and what you see on the websites is what you get!

6 Jun 2026We come out to Olean area several times a year to visit family. My only regret is that I did not find this place sooner. It exceeded my expectations by miles and miles. The location is great, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed was really comfortable. Every detail, was thought of. Definitely booking this again for our next stay.

26 May 2026The Old Library is a wonderful bed and breakfast. The staff is genuinely helpful and nice. The only "complaint" is that the bathroom in the signature suite could use an update. Despite the bathroom being outdated, it was clean and functional so it wasn't a huge issue. We would stay at the Old Library again in the future.

21 Apr 2026My husband and I have never stayed in a B&B before. We had a wonderful experience with the Old Library Inn. Our room was decorated beautifully, and very clean. The bathroom was especially immaculate and the linens were soft, fresh and plentiful.
Breakfast was fresh made to order and delicious. I felt very relaxed and comfortable in the living room area and kitchen. A wonderful stay and I will be back!

19 Oct 2025We were ready to give it a less than positive review, the room we were assigned had a bathroom out a door and into a stairway, not accessible from the bedroom, not a good situation. I called the hostess and voiced my objections and about 45 minutes later received a text moving us to a different room. The bedroom they moved us to had an onsuite bathroom so we were very happy with the final outcome. Very responsive. Would definitely stay at the Inn if ever in the area.

18 Jul 2026Overall the home is beautifully restored and my stay was worth the price paid. The check in process was confusing (no voicemail or answer), but thankfully we connected as I arrived. I stayed in the Jane Austen room which had a private bath accessed in the hallway. The bathroom needs significant updating. The lock did not work so I didn't feel comfortable taking a shower, and other guests used it even though it was supposed to be private (water bottle left on toilet, toilet not flushed). Another guest was hosting a big party on the front porch when I arrived which was very awkward to navigate through back-and-forth from my car. I also suggest bringing eye covering because the room is bright at night. The Inn is not staffed which seemed strange for a bed & breakfast, and breakfast is only served on weekends. However Amy, the owner (?) was welcoming, the bed was comfy, and the air conditioner kept the room nice and cool. It was also conveniently located to the SBU campus.
