Overall was a great stay. The room with the private bath was clean, quiet and quaint. Check in and out was easy peazy. However, we did have an unwelcomed guest, a house fly that greeted us in the room and would not let us sleep. We tried various ways to get it out of the room, but to no avail, he outwitted us every time. Other than that, everything was great. We said our goodbyes to the fly and went on our way.

My original stay was for 2 night and 3 days(4th of July weekend). I had such a good time, I decided to extend my trip for 2 more days. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, email correspondence for online check-in was timely and detailed and door code for property (front door, bedroom, and bathroom) was emailed promptly after online check-in was completed. The building seemed to be set to a specific temperature that was comfortable but it was nice having a rotating a/c fan in the room. Great location right off the L with restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping nearby. Convenient location to walk to the Metro venue (my reason for choosing this hotel), which was about 15 min away and about a block past Wrigley. Surprisingly quiet in the room overnight after a Cubs win. I didn't use the community kitchen with full size fridge and sink, but it was nice to know it was there. The bathroom was down the hall off the kitchen, which I expected, but was really not a problem since it had my specific door code for use and had a nice shower with shampoo/conditioner/body wash and plenty of towels. I appreciated being able to stay in a nice, affordable property on my trip and would definitely stay again on my next visit to Chicago.

Was as advertised. Basic accommodations that were clean and affordable, pared down amenities but really all I needed was a room and shower. The room I was in had a detached bathroom which I thought would be more annoying but really wasn’t. Only thing is the bathroom was freezing cold and would benefit from better insulation or a small heater.

The walls are very thin. I understand that it's an older building, however, I could hear everything as if it was right on the other side of the door, and I mean everything. The bed is very firm and uncomfortable. I also wish there was some kind of full-length mirror somewhere in the room. The location is good and everything felt safe. It was also nicely decorated and clean overall.
