We had a riverview room with a well equipped kitchenette and full sized fridge (which was quite noisy as was the air conditioning). The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and we appreciated the binoculars and bird guide in our room to make the most of the views through the trees to the river. The gardens were colourful and well tended. Although in a convenient location for exploring the Columbia River area, the lodge is a few miles outside the town centre, be aware that street parking...

Wonderful historic hotel with a nice garden "far from everything" but still just a short drive from The Dalles. There's a restaurant just across the street. The shared bathroom was clean and nice and we never had to wait in line (stayed only one night). Breakfast included warm egg dishes and fresh fruit among other things (much better than the motel breakfasts we've had during our trip, for the samt price!).
