18 Aug 2026We really enjoyed our stay. It began with relaxing in the backyard patio area after check-in and enjoying a complimentary happy hour with other friendly guests. The homemade cookies, tea, and ice water were a wonderful touch after a day in nearby Downtown Napa. The daily breakfast included with the room rate was great. We appreciated being served a warm meal first thing in the morning and felt very much at home in the cozy front room.

22 Sept 2026Not located in vineyard settings, but in the city of apartments and residential homes. Parking was always full because not enough area to cover any in and out driving into the parking lot. I know the facility is a historical concept, but the doors squeezed, stairs squeezed, furniture doors squeezed and bathroom door squeezed. Great service and great food and service was great too.

19 Aug 2026We really enjoyed staying three nights in the private cottage. There were a few issues with the cold water lever in the shower as well as a couple power outlets that had no power.. The intense light that came in through the two skylights was annoying for us. Dolly, who took excellent care of us at breakfast was amazing. She took the time to get to know us a bit and made us feel very comfortable. The meals that she prepared were fantastic!
The location was good for all the activities that were had in the Napa Valley.

1 Jun 2026Our host Dolly was the epitome of welcoming graciousness. From the afternoon welcome appetizers on Friday to the delicious breakfast on Saturday she also showed she was an amazing cook as well. The beautiful rooms and the gorgeous patio are something I hope to come back to!

2 Jun 2026As long as you know that you’re walking into a unique and beautiful Victorian B&B, you’ll have nothing to complain about. Dolly welcomed us in and made us feel right at home with the wine social hour on Friday evening and delicious sit down breakfast the following morning. The bathrooms are small (we had two rooms with their own bathrooms) with very little shelf space, but that’s to be expected. Our stay was truly a Victorian escape from the usual modern day hotels scattered around Napa. Definitely a must-experience kind of B&B. Downtown Napa is about 10 min walk if you have good walking abilities.

21 Apr 2026We wanted a night away, last second and found The Charles. We stayed in room 100,little private cottage and it was exactly what we wanted. Well decorated,clean,quiet, private,centrally located.....Breakfast was delicious and the host was wonderful! Only suggestion I have is get a maintenance guy in there to tighten the faucets. We would definitely come back next time we're in town.

27 Jun 2026This B&B is in a lovely old house, the kind of place I'm always looking for. The self check-in was a bit odd, since part of the charm of a B&B (to me anyway) is a warm greeting from the host. In the same way the breakfast service on our first morning, a Thursday, was kind of impersonal. There was no host in sight but several tables set for guests. We were rather at a loss for what to do until other guests said we should go ahead and sit down and our meal would be served. The food came out after a short wait and was served without a word. The breakfast itself was pretty good, although there was no choice in what was offered. The following morning was much more what we would have expected, with a friendly hostess to welcome us. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quaintly decorated. The bathroom was immaculate, but the shower stall was built in under the eaves with a sloping ceiling so low that a tall person would probably feel awkward. (Our room was "Chocolat.") I was rather surprised that there was no housekeeping to make up the bed, empty trash, or check the bathroom for towels, etc. Many hotels don't provide such service any more, but I still expect a minimum of this kind of attention at a B&B. One review mentioned a wine happy hour, but that didn't happen on our stay, or maybe no one told us about it?? The location is good and free off-street parking is a plus. On the whole it was a nice place to stay, but we probably would try some other place next time we're in Napa.
